Went there for dinner. The place was quite full but we managed to get a table. We ordered seafood pancake, blackcod stew, cold noodle and egg hotpot. The cod was fantastic. The pancake and egg were also very good, though a little salty for our taste. The cold noodle in beef soup was chewy and flavorful as well.
A late lunch at Ka Won. We went in for a late lunch and ordered Hot Bibimbap, a stone bowl of sizzling rice, vegetables and egg; Sang Kalbi, beef short ribs; and Seng Samgyeopsal, thinly sliced pork belly. Our waitress then lit the gas BBQ grill in the middle of our table to heat it up in preparation for the BBQ. She quickly brought out the traditional Banchans, small side dishes with different types of condiments such as sauteed greens in sesame oil, kimchi, cucumber kimchi, potato salad., dried anchovies, and several other sides; a large leaf lettuce salad dressed in a mixture of chili garlic paste and sesame oil; and, miso soup. Our waitress then brought out the Kalbi and Samgyeopsal and expertly grilled the meats over the gas grill and served to us graciously. The service excellent and the meal delicious. We are definitely going back again.
Best Korean BBQ in Seattle. Ka-Won is my favorite place for authentic Korean BBQ. I have tried several from Tacoma to Lynwood and every place in between (I love Korean food). I’ll go out of my way to dine at Ka-Won for their great assortment of banchan (side dishes), chigaes (stews), and perfect cuts of meat. Their side salad for the meat is a particular favorite of mine. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere can get lively (not too loud though) which I personally enjoy. If you feel like having Korean BBQ while in Seattle, Ka-Won is worth the drive.
