I live within walking/stumbling distance of what must be Washington State’s largest cinnamon rolls. This is trouble for my butt.Breakfast here is consistently delicious and impressively large. We take nearly all of our guests here.We love the scrambles and omelettes (check out their specials each day), and the biscuits and gravy always satisfies those who partied too hard the night before. My favorite thing to eat here is actually the BLT+avocado–their homemade sourdough MAKES it. Paired with their fries (really just thinly sliced potatoes, cut cross-ways), that sandwich keeps me full all day.The servers are wonderful and all of them take care of you. You water glass won’t be empty long.Pro tip: On Thursdays, they serve eclairs. They’re as big in scale as their cinnamon rolls are. You’re welcome/I’m sorry.
The Maltby Cafe makes a mean berry shortcake, which apparently has won awards as the waitress informed me. The shortcake was much bigger than I imagined, and I was full before I finished half of it. The berries were incredibly fresh and sweet but the best part was the cream. It was light, creamy and absolutely delightful. If the dessert is this good, I’d love to come back and actually try an entree.
There is a reason why this place usually has a wait time on the weekends. It has delicious food, amazing service, and some of the best gigantic cinnamon rolls in Snohomish County if not surrounding counties as well! The breakfasts are huge portions that can easily be two meals or split among two people and on the weekdays they offer hamburgers which are very good. I have also had some of their lunch items including the Mediterranean salad, the turkey cranberry sandwich and the BLT – all of which are very good. Their fries are not the usual crinkle fries but are sliced potatoes and then fried – they taste better as they cool. if you have time it is worth the wait to enjoy a nice sit down meal with a group of friends or with your family or just by yourself. I love their homemade bread and biscuits!
The best breakfast we’ve had in our 2 months in Washington. Amazing homemade food! The only downside was the 25 min wait at 9:30 am on a Saturday.
