Best service ! The Steak will ruin you for ALL other restaurants! No kidding. We’ve been to the Tacoma El Gauchos many times, and will be back many more.Table side Cesar salad is a great experience, as well as bananas foster.I usually get the New York, and my wife gets the baseball cut of the top sirloin.I really can’t say enough about this place. You will pay for the awesome though, try to not look at the prices, and just pay the bill…
Dinner at El Gaucho tonight. We started with a Table Side Caesar Salad which was incredible. The dressing was beyond perfect, probably the best I’ve ever had. For my entre I had a 18oz Bone-In NY Strip, cooked to medium rare. I also had a Crimini and Shiitake Risotto and baked Brussel Sprouts with a Balsamic Reduction. Service was great, food was great, making for an overall great experience worthy of a great rating.
VERY pricey! Worth every cent! I took my boyfriend for his birthday, I knew nothing about El Gaucho other than they have steaks. It was amazing! Staff was so friendly and service was great. Every bite of food was delicious and the left overs were too! We shared the chateaubriand which is a big piece of meat that is cut right in front of you. It was so tender and served with fresh mushrooms. The server saved all the juices for us to pour back over our meat as we ate it. We had the chateaubriand with mushroom risotto and brussel sprouts (not the biggest fan of how they were prepared, but they weren’t bad). For the two of us, the bill was $250. That’s including two drinks per person. As amazing as my dinner was, this will be a place I won’t be frequenting a lot because it was a pretty penny (but it was so goood!)
Just celebrated two late birthdays there & as always had a great meal, fabulous service. Great tableside Caesar salad, a great steak, & awesome wine. I’d eat here once a month if I could!Debra in Dupont
Great!!. Definitely lives up to what I think fine dining should be. we had a lamb dish and the Gaucho steak, shared a side of scalloped potatoes, food was outstanding, service was also…loved driving up to have our car parked by the valet. super expensive, but I look forward to dining here again. wish I could do it regularly!!
Great atomsphere. Been to couple of fancy restaurants. So far this one has lived up to the hype. Normally I enjoy a great steak, have been to the Metro Grill in seattle, Ruth Chris, Daniel’s broiler, rock salt, Jaks grill disappointed with El gaucho. Came here for an anniversary dinner. The atmosphere here is AMAZING! Made my dinner reservations and the staff was great. Hostess was attentive, waiter was helpful and gave us personal attention. Just was not that impressed. We got an intimate table that was close to the piano. I sat so close to my neighbor that I honestly could have taken my fork and eaten off their plate. I thought the food was okay, really felt like I was paying for the atmosphere more than the quality if the food. I had ordered a bone-in new york. The hubs ordered pepercorn new york. The food was okay didn’t think the food was as good as Daniel’s broiler. All in all you really pay for the atmosphere. I think I would come back if they had some specials on groupon or livingsocial. I’ve had better steaks at Daniel’s broiler, the met, and even Jaks grill in west seattle.
We have been here several times. Yep it’s expensive. The quality of food is ok not great. Their service is adequate. Though the server we had each of the time struck us as snobby and schooled in the art of indifference. For the cost and lackluster product I think you would be more well served at the Adriatic Grill, or even Harbor Lights. We will not return. Our out of town guests were embarrassed at the experience which was to them not worth the hype.
