Price point a little high for size and quality of cupcake. Fruit flavored items tend to be a bit sugary while chocolate varieties tend to be less sugary. Freshness just after lunchtime a bit off, with several of the dozen surprisingly tough.
Every cupcake I’ve tried is delicious. The setting is so adorable that we had my son’s 1yo photos taken here. The staff are delightful. Our family LOVES Hello Cupcake!
Loved these cupcakes!. Stopped in not knowing a thing about this place and never having read the reviews. Thank goodness I didn’t especially since none of the reviews are current.I tried the minis they had, which prompted me to purchase a variety half dozen to bring home back to the Seattle area. What flavors did I bring home: Lemon, Champagne, Hummingbird, Caramel, Red Velvet and Vanilla. Now I wish I had bought a dozen, since the only location they have is in Tacoma. The cake itself was moist and light; the frosting – oh so delish – not overpowering, not overly sweet – just perfect and right. I have tried ALL of the cupcake shops in Seattle and on the Eastside – absolutely none of them compare to the awesome cupcake of Hello Cupcake. Only minus I found was the shop itself – in an older building, kind of warehouse looking. Almost didn’t go in, but sure as heck glad I did.
Ugh. Had these cupcakes three times over the course of a year and I’ve yet to have a decent cupcake here….bitter chocolate, grainy frosting or overly dry cake.
Dirt and sugar.. These cupcakes were so bland and dry I got an account just to warn people. In a sea of cupcake creators the folks at Hello, Cupcake seem to be the least interested in their work. All they make is cupcakes and the lack of flavors and creativity is nearly insulting. Now I thought lack of variety would be forgotten once I tasted a moist and flavorful cupcake, WRONG. After friends and I sampled four of the cupcakes, nearly half their menu, we were all very disappointed and felt totally mislead by all their good press. Save your money and just eat a handful of dirt and sugar.
Quaint and cute, but they need more flavors. Also the moisture wicking red velvet is to be desired. A cupcake should be MOIST. 2 LBS of frosting will not help. Good not great.
Returned for a second time. The cupcake I tried – peanut butter/chocolate was good. Still not the best cupcake I’ve ever had, but still a fun little place to check out in Tacoma.29 Aug, 2010Beautiful, whimsical cupcakes and shoppe. Two of the three that I tried were tasty. The chocolate/chocolate – not that good. 🙁
