About
Hilltop Kitchen is a Tacoma neighborhood bar. We pour mezcal, whiskey, rum, and Cachaa. We make food inspired by our travels in the Southwest and in Latin America and that honors what we love about the Northwest. We worked with our friends to build Hilltop Kitchen out of reclaimed materials so the space reflects the same crafted approach we take when making food and drinks. We want to invite people to come in, grab a cold beer and some tacos; try a strange spirit youve never had before; have fun, relax, and let us take care of you.HK is a craft bar a scratch kitchen that seeks to honor the ingredients that draw inspiration from the Pacific Northwest and uses ingredients that are locally and seasonally grown. HK has a commitment to using quality ingredients at every step in the process, not the least of which is an extensive ice program, a variety house made mixers & sodas, along fresh squeezed juices. In our kitchen our vision is to create plates that fully engages the guest while not disguising the natural flavors of each component within the dish. We strive to gather ingredients as close to the source as possible, which leads to relationship with local famers, cheese mongers, and butchers. We like to complicate the dish by presenting only its essential elements. This is simple food, treated honestly. Our goal is to draw on a range of intrinsic influences that delight our guests. At the end of the meal, we want people to feel happy, well fed, and nourished. Essentially we like to eliminate the unnecessary to achieve the extraordinary.
