I lived in Hawaii in the early 2000’s and used to frequent L&L’s. Since then I’ve been to several main land L&L’s and other Hawaiian plate lunch restaurants all across the country, some of which have gotten it right… Unfortunately, this place just falls short. I’ve tried it twice now and honestly see no reason to come back. I rated it a 3 because the food doesn’t suck, but knowing what it should taste like will prevent me from returning again. So if you have intimate knowledge of what real Hawaiian plate lunches should be, then I’d say either save your money or at least don’t go in with high expectations… If not, give it a try, you might like it, but understand that it isn’t all together authentic… At least not good authentic.
