Horrible service. If you’re looking for good pho and decent service do NOT come here. There is one old lady working there who is just awful! She is rude and is not very attentive. The food isn’t very good either. Its alright if you’re just looking for convenience of location. But I would recommend driving just a little further to Pho Tai on 38th and Pacific Ave. MUCH better pho AND service.
Pho does the body good. I would have to say that I have tried a good amount of pho at many a location. The basic recipe is pretty much the same, rice noodles, thinnly sliced meat, cilantro, onions, broth served with a side of bean sprouts, jalapenos, thai basil and lime. To me the broth is everything, if the base broth is delicous on its own, then all the other elements create a perfect bowl of pho. If the broth is lackluster, no amount of sauces will help. Pho 38th is where I go on cold days, when I am feeling under the weather and need a hot bowl of goodness that does the body good. Teresa Potter
Hot. Hot. Hot!. Not spicy, boiling! Miss this place since I don’t work close enough to run over for lunch anymore. Still make it over for great pho though. Never eaten in, just take out.
Best Pho in Tacoma.
Yum!. This place is great. I had my first ever noodle salad bowl from here and ever since I have been addicted to noodle salads! I love that the portions (whether you come here, or pretty much any other vietnemese restaurant) are HUGE, I will be going back. 🙂
Is broth instant?. My wife loves this place, but everytime I go I have aheadache after. I like the concept of a quick, inexpensive, Pho with flavor and fresh basil, sprouts on top, etc. Will admit to being a bit of a foodie, traveled the world and lived in exotic places enjoying the food the most. However, Vietnam I haven’t travelled so only Pho experience is US…..So my last experience was most likely my last here as I saw from the kitchen them prepare a bowl….boiling hot water added to the bowl, (good), then from a large box store container that I can only think of as an instant both mix of some kind added to the bowl and mixed (bad) then all these wonderful fresh meats, veggies, etc added (good).Moral of the story START WITH A GOOD BROTH!!! THEN THIS PLACE WOULD BE GREAT FOR THE PRICE.As is a I have headache for bad pho….
