This is such a fun place to enjoy real southern food! It’s a really small diner, but it’s worth coming here. The staff is very friendly and the prices are affordable. The craziness that goes on in the kitchen makes it all worth while. You really feel like you’re in the south for some good grubbin. I had their sweet tea, corn cakes, classic fried chicken with mashed potatoes, and macaroni. So good!
You won’t find better service anywhere! The food isn’t too bad either. We’ve had breakfast, lunch and dinner here and have never been let down. Love the corn cakes! But they need to bring back honey for them…that’s my only complaint.
No Good!. I went with couple of southerners! They always drink sweet tea at home so they know a good one when they drink one! They thought the sweet tea was super sweet. They had hard time drinking it! I tried it, it was extremely sweet and I LOVE sweet things.Jalapeno Hush Puppies: DRYBiscuits and Gravy: BLAND! didn’t taste like anything!The service was good though.
TERRIBLE. No customer device skills to start. Made us wait and there were tables available…. Then sat us after about ten minutes in the same tables that had already been empty!I Ordered the fried chicken and my chicken was bloody inside. I informed my waitress (owner) and she said she’d make note of it. She did NOT offer another piece of chicken or anything off of our meal. We ordered a side of black eye peas that we never received and were charged for. After letting them know that the black eye peas were never brought to us they packaged some up to go and still made us pay for them. Really???This restaurant will never see us again.
NOT GOOD !. Saw this place on ddd in 09 finally made it up there ..service was ok food not so much…. me and my wife had fried green tomato’s not bad . we both had the fried catfish greens and cornbread stuffing with gravy. the fish was of poor quality the stuffing was tasteless the gravy was powdered not good at all the greens were nothing but smoke flavor …. for almost 60 bucks for two i expected it to at least taste good .. I’m not going back !
Incredible food, all of it. The butterfish was tender and flaky, the candied yams soft and sweet. The corn cake, Mac n cheese, fried chicken… All excellent. I will be sure to return.
No like. Had the fried chicken, Ezell’s has better, cornbread pancakes, what happen to good old cornbread, collard greens, too much smokiness, fried okra, not homemade, bread pudding, will go back just to buy the bread pudding.
