Fantastic sushi! This place is authentic, and actually makes the sushi right in front of you. The service was great as well! I will definitely be coming back. I would definitely recommend this place!
If you want to eat authentic Japanese food in Tacoma, Sushi Tama is the place. They don’t drown there sushi in sauces or over-rice their rolls. The ratio of fish to rice on the nigiri is perfect. There are evenings when the place is overflowing, and there can be a wait even if you are seated, but it is worth it. The spicy tuna roll is one of my favorites along with their hamachi kama and the beef negihama roll. Yum!
My favorite sushi place in tacoma. I’ve lived in Tokyo, San Francisco, and Vancouver, and this place is as close as you can get to authentic in Tacoma. So good. I eat here twice a month.
MOST AUTHENTIC SUSHI RESTAURANT IN TACOMA. I currently live in Japan and visited Sushi Tama on vacation. The sushi, menu, and atmosphere, are completely authentic and the sushi is great. Way better than Trappers! The only difference is that sushi places in Japan are about half the size! Great service!
Great experience. Authentic, decent portions for the price. My boyfriend has been trying out local places for sashimi and has been disappointed with everything he has tried but he was quite pleased with the place. The service is quite friendly and reasonably fast. Good menu with variety. We will be returning. Miso soup is great
Thought I would try this place again and I have changed my mind – not sure if I had a diff chef or what, but this place impresses. Twice now the sushi is excellent quality, service much better and the chef knows his stuff from aging of the tuna to knowing how salmon needs to be prepared, this place is awesome!10 Nov, 2009Forgot to add that the misu is overly salty and although the chef would like to think he is being cutting edge by offering tiny rolls in the sashimi plate, when you add it to the egg and the price, again not worth it.10 Nov, 2009L am not overly impressed. You don’t get a lot for your money an they like to give egg ok the sashimi plate- for $17 I would expect more fish. Go with Gari instead – better in every way.
