I grew up in San Diego and Albuquerque. I’ve traveled up and down Baja and the mainland. Been to restaurants in Tijuana where you order carnitas by the kilo. so I am familiar with authentic Mexican food. This food is the real deal.On Thursdays, they serve chili rellenos that are absolutely delicious. All made by hand. Their carnitas, tamales and carne asada are outstanding. The portions are huge, so if you leave hungry you have no one to blame but yourself.Good stuff, very authentic and, without a doubt, the best in the the Tacoma area.

Mediocre service, great food! Came in sat down, waitress was over to us in about 5 min. Was a little long since there was only 2 tables with people. My girlfriend wanted chicken enchilada with Red sauce ( that sauce only came on the cheese one) so the waitress just added chicken to the cheese one without an extra charge. I had the mol enchilada very tasty, chicken was slightly dry but didn’t take away from the dish.

Bad service. Went here quite a while ago with high expectations due to reviews from foodie friends. We actually had to walk out without ordering. The waitress was on her cell phone the entire time talking about some personal medical stuff. She Seemed to not even notice we existed. I cannot tolerate such poor service and the place was very dirty looking. I still want to try the food so I guess next time I’ll order ahead and eat it elsewhere. I hope they address this problem so they can be very successful.

Real Mexican. Loved the food. Authentic and flavorful.

Wife and I love Mexican inspired cooking and have sampled it in many US states. Our favorite in the Seattle area was the Cactus, but now it’s Vuelve a la Vida! We intend to eventually sample every item on the menu, then start all over again!

Paul. This is the best Mexican food I’ve ever had anywhere except perhaps for a place in Paso Robles CA. But definitely the best in Washington. Carnitas, lengua, asada, ceviche all tried many times and never a miss. The red and green homemade salsas are fantastic. Great prices.

Not bad food, but not anything special. Disappointing that they not only don’t serve chips and salsa but you can’t even order it! My tamale was good but my enchilada was cold. My friend’s tacos were dripping oil and bland. There was a puddle of oil on her plate under the taco!
