Racing to racer. Cafe Racer is a fun, wildly unique kind of place! Cafe Racer also houses the Museum of Bad Art which is a real hoot while you are waiting on your food. There are racing stripes on the floor, extra assurance that the cafe lives up to it’s name.Some parts of the cafe seem a little run down. Some of the cushioned seats are sliced up and an extra room looks like it is used for storage. That seems to add to the charm of Cafe Racer however.Cafe Racer has a sad and unfortunate noteriety to it and that was when a shooting took place on May 30th 2012. In the end of there were six people dead, including the gun man. Amongst those that were killed were Joseph Albanese and Andrew Keriakedes who both worked there and were artists to the community. They added a lot of heart and soul to Cafe Racer as there are several pictures paying tribute to them. As a result there was a slight eeriness to the place that something horrific happened here when this place was for eating, socializing and fun. Some of those tribute photos are upstairs in a lounge like room.The food here Steve and I really enjoyed! I got a Whiskey BBQ sandwich which tasted wonderful! I also ordered a Bloody Mary which had a lot of spice to it! Something I was looking for for a long time. Since I moved here at least.The service was friendly and prompt.I would love to go back and see myself doing so in the future!
