We were staying across the street and were looking for lunch after arriving. The restaurant has a nice patio and the main dining room is open and inviting. White table cloths on all the tables. Staff was quick and receptive. They offer a price fix lunch specialty menu as well as their regular menu. Our party had a wood fire pizza, pasta with clams and a gnocchi dish. It was all excellent. Although we didnt take advantage of it the also had a nice wine and drink menu.
Loved this place. Had lynch there. Amazed by appetizer, imported dried meat with pears and vinegar sauce . Tomato mozzarella salad was great choice as well. But the main dish I didn’t like; ordered branzino ( sea bass) was a little bitterish… I didn’t finish eating even the half of my portion. But ordered tiramisu for desert, nothing special, but it was just good. Really likes attentive services, and appreciated my servicer wine recommendations. Interesting light, wide interior with frames paintings on the ceiling. The only think, i bet its time to change plates, they look very old.Enjoy your food#Mamma Melina Ristorante + Pizzeria
Good bar service and good food. This is one of those places wherein much of the food is in small portions meant for presentation. Expensive, but we got round this because they charge half price on many menu items and drinks if you come in during Happy Hour on Sundays or Mondays and taking your meals at the bar.
Not bad, but not what I was looking for…. I was looking for a comfortable, neighborhood Italian restaurant to take my daughter, one who is attending the nearby University of Washington. This restaurant is much more upscale (white linen tablecloths) than I was hoping for, along with higher prices, etc. The food was good, but not exceptional, and choices were limited for my vegetarian offspring. My search will continue for a basic, cozy Italian restaurant near the University.
Best happy hour with Tracy G. We love mamma Melina’s happy hour with Tracy G as our server! She is possibly the best server in Seattle. Great personality, totally professional and makes the evening an overall wonderful experience.
Farfallone con salmone. Pretty rich, on the oilier side. Pasta is very al dente which I like. Good flavor and pretty decent amount12 Sep, 2014Caprese salad. Fine but nothing special. Tomatoes were a little soft, light on basil.
