This is the best Mediterranean restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. I have trouble ordering Shawarma at other places because of the expectations that this gem has given me. Also, reasonably priced, which is rare in the city.
Best gyro place on the ave. Been coming here for years and it blows Aladdin out of the water! The food is so well prepared that it made me love lamb. Everything is fresh, and I love the chunks of cucumber in the gyros. Other than the food, what had always made Shawarma King stand out to me is the open friendliness of the staff; every interaction I’ve had with them had been super pleasant and I’ve always left the counter feeling a little brightened up.The other stark contrast to other similar places in the area is that the space is open and CLEAN. No residue of grease, gross bathrooms, etc. Prices are very reasonable- 7.99 for a gyro combo.
