First Time – Loved it!. Great view of the river. 97 degrees outside- very comfortable in the restaurant. Excellent microbrew selection (we had Ninkasi Oatmeal Stout and Leavenworth BootJack IPA). Server had impeccable timing. I had the bleu cheese bacon burger – too decadent for words. Love the fries. Wife had Oriental Steak salad – she loved it. Very reasonable price. Not very busy – that can’t last long with this good food.
Went in last night for a late dinner. They were closing down the kitchen in five minutes and, as a server, I understand it’s so irritating for people to do that, but we had just gotten to the hotel and I was famished. We opted to sit in the lounge so we didn’t keep anyone in the dining room too late. I apologized to the cocktail server and she was so sweet and accommodating. We let her know we had a voucher for $30 dining credit (again a nuisance as many people don’t tip appropriately on discounted bills.) again, she was really friendly about it. The bar was a bit crowded and a little loud, but, hey, it’s a bar so to be expected. My boyfriend and I shared the artichoke jalapeo dip which I hesitated on but it was so creamy and had just the right amount of slow, restrained heat. We also had the flatbread pizza with artichoke, bacon and chicken and chicken Alfredo. Both were really flavorful and much better than expected for the reasonable price. All in all, the service was wonderful, the food was delicious and the ambiance of the rooftop dining with a river was fantastic. We were very pleasantly surprised and really appreciated our experience here!
So my girlfriend and I are staying at this hotel for the weekend and thought the idea of a rooftop grill was great! We went up for drinks last night and they were paying so little attention to us if we weren’t honest people we could have just walked out! The drinks were pretty inexpensive but the service was awful! Next morning we go up for breakfast because we paid to get free breakfast in the morning. First it was about a half hour wait and there were open tables everywhere, I don’t know if they were understaffed or what was going on but I could tell everyone waiting was very frustrated. When we went to order orange juice (it’s breakfast) they were all out so I ordered orange juice my girlfriend ordered sprite, both were warm (warm drinks! Ugh) just an all around bad experience! I would not suggest eating here at all!!
Christmas Eve Dinner. Our reservation was for 4pm, and an elevator ride and we were on our way. This was not our first time to eat here but 9 years later we decided to come back and check things out to see if there was improvement . This being a holiday , dinner was a buffet. Prime rib, turkey and dressing and much more. It was like being at Grandma’s house. Everything was seasoned very well. All you could eat with a very good price service was great. Not what I would call amazing food . Being as it was the holidays, for me it was all about the comfort food. Yes I would go back.
