Swell. Very fine experience all the way around…good pints, the service was solid, and the layout is enjoyable. The review criticism (of portion size) in my opinion is correct-could be a bit bigger.
Best soda bread. It’s rare than i, much less anyone else i know, craves irish food or is dying to go to an irish pub for anything other than a pint of guiness and your standard ho-hum bar food. but surprisingly, this place actually offers legitimate culinary eats. the burgers are sizeable and tasty, and where else can you find four different inspirations for potatoes, ranging from an irish traditional preparation to a curry preparation?by far the best feature of this joint, however, is the soda bread. it tastes like fried cake (what’s not to like about that??), and when dipped in the hearty irish stew, actually makes irish food something worth talking about. in fact, it’s what compelled me to write this review! and at $2 for a side of two sizeable chunks, is definitely worth its price and then some. it’s also included if you get any of the soups.if you ever feel compelled to eat irish food, this place is your best bet.
Enjoyed it. Second visit. Blackened salmon burger was great! It was a good sized salmon fillet. Good service too.
Food. The food is good had the Bangers and Mash.They need to place more on the plate, had to make a sandwich at home to fill up.Recommend you add more to the portions raise the price people will come for the food !
Good. Very good food and service, especially the burgers and calamari. Also, they have great desserts, my favorite are the raspberry bread pudding and the guiness brownie. Great view of Puget Sound. We like it so much, we go down there a few times a week!
Good Irish Stew. Love the Irish Stew and can eat the great bread all day, they got it right but the portion is pretty darn small for the money – ya it’s tasty but it’s still just stew for cripes sakes. The other food is fair, good eat’s but nothing outstanding other than the stew. I have not tried everything though. The wait staff shines, they’re really fun every time we’ve been there. The house is comfortable and beer selection is good. I know rents are criminal on Alki, but toss us a little bigger bone or slice a bit off the price. Still all in all, I guess we’ll go back, just not too often. It’s worth giving it a try, especially that stew………
