Another disapointment! I don’t know what it is about this location and customer service but there seems to be a curse. My friend and I walked in to grab coffee and there were 2 people were behind the counter, neither of which acknowledged us when we walked in. One was making sandwiches and the other was making signs for the specials board. After we stood there a while I finally said hello and only then did we get their attention. As we were waiting for our coffee the gal making signs reached around my friend to post them, never saying excuse me then abruptly went and sat on the couch and fell asleep. Verh strange. Did I mention their coffee was sub-par? Definitely won’t be going back!
Bitter overextracted coffee. I’ve tried Freshy’s several times b/c it’s close to my apartment, but every time I’ve been disappointed. The espresso machine doesn’t seem to be maintained very well, and/or the baristas are pulling shots so long its ridic (and pulling the cup out after 30 seconds does not a good shot make). There really isn’t much @ Admiral Junction for good coffee…Alki Mail and Dispatch is the most consistently good cup around.
Freshy’s RULES. Aside from killer homemade soups & sandwiches [that are creative due to impromptu ingredients],,, the help at this small independent coffee shop is first rate ~not to mention they are gorgeous! Go to this hidden coffee shop in west seattle. it Rules! A+++
Sweet!. I love it here! The owner makes all her own food, quiches, soups, sandwiches etc and the atmosphere is cozy and fun. Its got a nice community vibe here and is great place for free wi-fi. Funky.
Great Atmosphere. I live in Seattle proper, am a freelancer and rarely venture out of my comfort zone when I need a place to drink some coffee and do some work away from home. However, I was feeling adventurous the other day and journeyed to West Seattle. There I found Freshy’s. They’re on a quiet part of California Ave. Their coffee is great, the barista (who I think is the owner also) is adorable and really sweet, and the place feels like a living room, but with better work-space for the laptop toters. There’s even a fireplace! Their baked goods all look delectable, they make hot and cold sandwiches and soups. Not to mention they have free WiFi. I’ll definitely come back here the next time I need a change of scenery, it may become my second home-away-from-home.
