Jak’s is never a letdown. Service has always been friendly and attentive. Steaks are great. My go to is usually the Jak’s Burger or their Steak Sandwich. Spinach salad and some potato pancakes and you’ve got yourself a winning dinner.
Always a nice place to have happy hour or just a quick breakfast. Food can take quite a while but when it comes out, it’s always good. A local stop if you happen to in West Seattle, definitely recommend!
I have eaten at Jaks many times, always having their delicious steaks. On 6/7/15, I decided to have a change and ordered the pork chop, asking it to be cooked pink inside. It was huge, dry, tough, tasteless and essentially inedible. Had I not been with a group, and not wanting any disruptions, I would have sent it back. I think I will put it through a food processor (bone removed), and with a generous portion of mayonnaise, tryto eat it in a sandwich!
Meh. As soon as I moved to West Seattle everyone has been telling me to go have a Jaks burger. I finally make it in for one and I was disappointed for all the hype. We were seated in the back and sorta forgotten about. From the time it took two of us to each order a sandwich till the time it finally made it to the table, 65 minutes had passed. I ordered a baked potato and was surprised when I got french fries. The less than enthused waitress said they were out of bakers. At a steakhouse? It seems like theyust have been out of everything because the burger patty wasn’t anything like the website or friends had described. Coming from a beef farm in Oklahoma, I hold burgers to a pretty high standard and this did not muster par.
Disappointed. Looked forward to brunch at Jak’s today. Had a bad experience the two other times we had brunch there. Decided to give them another try. We waited 20 minutes before a server came to our table and more than 10 minutes before our drinks were served. We were so frustrated we thought of leaving. When we finally got to order, I had the classic benedict which was OK even though the eggs were cooked too hard. My husband had bacon and eggs over easy. The eggs were barely cooked, so he couldn’t finish all of them. I think we’ll stick to dinner only at Jak’s.
Top quality steakhouse!. Referred by a local, we gave it a shot. Jak’s is down in the junction, and could easily be missed…don’t pass it by. A classic dark-wood, mostly booths with low-light interior still has a bit of the West Seattle funkiness you count on in the Junction…the specials were interesting and we went with the steak bits and wonderfully fresh sourdough bread…if they had just brought several plates of this and some wine, it would’ve been a wonderful meal in itself! For entrees we went with classics, she had the petite-filet and I the dry-aged NY strip. Both were cooked perfectly to order and were melt-in-your-mouth tender. The garlic mashed potatoes were creamy heaven. Service was attentive and extremely pleasant, the wine list was decent, by-the-bottle options offered more big reds than the by the glass, we did not ask about corkage…maybe next time. Between the appetizer and the entrees dessert was a fleeting thought, but just not possible. We hear the burgers are amazing and there is no doubt we’ll be back!
