One of my favorite Mexican spots in West Seattle, located conveniently in the junction right off of cali ave. The staff is always super friendly and they have fabulous arroz con pollo, I like to order mine with extra mushrooms hold the cheese.Once you sit the server brings over fresh made tortilla chips, delicious salsa and an interesting tasty slaw which I devour always. If you aren’t looking to eat the Puerto Vallarta bar is something else, in a good way. Stiff drinks and funny locals. Being from West Seattle I always run into familiar faces. By the time I leave those familiar faces are a bit blurry, perfect divey type bar, you’ll have some interesting stories to tell. mounivong.blogspot.com
Old School West Seattle Restaurant. This restaurant is full of memories for me. I’ve dined here with friends, family… coworkers. I’ve drank giant fishbowl Margaritas here and if I had to count how many baskets of chips I’ve consumed here, it would be frightening. Now that I’m older and have been more places and explored many other Mexican restaurants – I don’t say the food is spectacular, nor are the margaritas. However, it’s a good time if you are a local, and you want to stick close to home. I can always count on Puerto Vallarta to be in the envelope of neighborhood coupons you get at ho, and honestly it’s the only one I keep just in case I need a deal on fajita dinner for two. The bar is usually full and you can order tacos there for a buck fifty. Not that they are going to make a list of best tacos anytime soon… but they are good to put in your belly if you decide it’s the right time to enjoy that giant 4 person Marg.
