Great Food, Environment and Staff on this visit. I brought my family, a party of 13 on a Friday evening we sat in the back area by the game room. Pretty neat for the kids to enjoy.
Good experience. Had Christmas dinner there today (our first trip to Ryan’s) and everything was delicious. The desserts that my table chose weren’t as good as the main and side dishes, but there were a lot of desserts to choose from; maybe we just didn’t choose the right ones. We all chose different main dishes & sides, and all of us were pleased.
Deserves better reviews than what I’ve been reading.. The place was clean and the food was widely varied and plentiful. Steaks, pork steaks, fish, chicken several ways and they were pretty darn good. The chef behind the meat counter couldn’t be more happy to please. Some of the side dishes looked unappetizing so I ate more chicken. Meatloat was more loaf than meat but it was still very tasty and I had seconds. Salad bar was fresh. Desserts were ok. Staff was professional and pleasant. Even when they had to deal with children running amok because their parents thought it was Chuckie Cheese. Staff replenished the food constantly and did damage control when swine diners helped themselves from the middle of the tray or scraped the cheese from the top, *Sigh.*I wouldn’t rate it high like I would a Western Sizzlin or the Mountaingate Restaurant and Buffet in Thurmont, MD but I would certainly not hesitate to eat there again when I had an appetite for tasty protein. My visit was around 5:00 pm. I almost didn’t go because of the reviews I read not just for this location but around the country. It’s a buffet, people. It is supposed to be cafeteria-style. They can’t season things to your particular palate. I would venture to say that the food there was better than most people eat in their own homes. Advice to customers: If you want to eat you can leave Ryan’s satisfied. If you want to dine, go elsewhere.Advice to owners of Ryan’s: A little less commercial grade ingredients and pre-mades will double your client base.
