A beer garden in Appalachia, how great is that? Fortunately, Bahnhof doesn’t seem to be one of those places that makes a big initial splash and then drops off the radar. The outdoor beer garden area is complete with picnic tables and a fire pit, and is packed with a great blend of ages and backgrounds. The beer is plentiful, with a ton of taps to choose your poison from. The food is solid; order the sausage sampler appetizer, you won’t be disappointed. The schnitzel is pretty average, but it’s hard to vary fried pork. The only downfall to this place is the wait time; the wait to get seated for 2 people was close to an hour, and we then waited at the table multiple times during the course of the meal for the waiter to stop schmoozing tables and bring us menus/drinks/checks/etc. Thankfully we had liters of beer to occupy ourselves with. Great potential, but just needs slight tweaking to get it right. 4/5.
