Used to love it, now not so much. I loved the old Davis’s Place, and have been in the new one several times. It has generally been a pleasant experience, until today. Our party of four arrived at 3:00 PM, stayed until almost 5:00, and consumed 4 or 5 pitchers of beer and some wings. The wings were not very good, but that was not the problem. When we asked for our tab, our waitress was ruder than any person, in a service position or otherwise, that I have ever dealt with in my life. She made it very clear that 1: she did not service tables after 4PM; 2: she did not cook the food, only served it; and 3: they did not need our tips, only our money. She gave all of this information in a loud and unpleasant tone, all the while slamming beer glasses into a stack. Needless to say, the tip was a non-issue: we didn’t leave one, although I am normally a 20% tipper. I am still shaking my head over our treatment by this person, and have to wonder why an establishment that depends on local goodwill for business would keep her on staff. It’s a darn good thing they don’t need me, because I sure won’t be back.
Worst bar in huntington. Owner and bartenders will have you set up.when you pull out you get pulled over.also the cook has full blown aids.
What used to be a great dive hole one the wall is now a glossey shell of its previous dingy splendor. The food is good and surprisingly wallet friendly. But the main issue for it’s depressing downturn is the management/ownership that makes no attempt to personally apologize or get involved when one of the myriad well groomed bar girls gives your credit card to the wrong patron. Only to discover that they gave it to the wrong person, they subsequently comp my drinks ( in total of $8.50, a minuscule amount to them I’m sure) and apologize. All the while by the time I managed to cancel my account the other patron ran up $159.00 on my account. I don’t fault the individual because we have the same last name, I bet they didn’t even realize what has happened. As a result, I am in dispute with my cc company and have made many attempt to contact the management/ownership of Davis Place to see what they may offer in ways on making amends for their staffs mistake. With out avail, no response, no apologies, nothing. So if you go PAY CASH. they will lose your credit card. Also. This was at 7 pm, my wife and I stopped in for a couple drinks before we had dinner reservations on her birthday. Thanks for the headache Davis Place.
