Good TexMex. I came to WV from Texas where good TexMex restaurants seemed to be on every corner. El Tenampa is the closest I have found to what I grew up this side of the Mississippi River.Food is fresh, hot and flavorful. Salsa is not poured out of an industrial size container, but has lots of fresh tomatoes, cilantro and peppers. Service is fast and prices are very good.
West Tenampa Bar. The best of the best in Mexican Restaurants. Food cooked the way you want it, not some store bought re-heated crap, this is authentic as you can find. I love the El Ambre most of all. The chips and salsa are the best I have eaten period. Go check it out if you ever get a chance and you will also be hooked.
This is, hands down, the best Mexican restaurant in the area. My husband and I used to be huge Rio groupies, but we’ve now grown up and moved on. Must try! Awesome guacamole, kickin’ salsa! My husband gets the grilled chicken quesadilla. I get the pollo loco with shredded cheese instead of queso sauce. The waiters know us now and can order for us…. Oh wait, should I have incriminated myself! 🙂 love this place!
All the tenapas are great but I like this one the best. Service, food, atmosphere. All great.
I love the Tenampa chain, but the service and food at West Tenampa is the best. Their chips & salsa are great (and free). Only negative is they lack a full bar.

Great food, great service, GREAT EVERYTHING.. Very close with Los Mariachis on 60 as my fave Mexican in town, but pulls ahead due to their many signature authentic dishes and THE BEST SALSA IN TOWN (if you love cilantro like i do).
