I enjoyed their coffee and chicken salad before my meal. I ordered the baked chicken with honey mustard with sides. Their pie slices are delicious. The ambience takes you back and the staff was good. It took forever to pay the check.
First of all, I love food and usually I am not critical. The way I see it is if I don’t like the food, atmosphere, service, etc. I can always not come back. I must confess that since I was a little boy, Jim’s Steak and Spaghetti has been a favorite of mine. Every time I walk in the door memories flood my mind. I always order the spaghetti so they must be doing something right. Some have said that nothing changes there BUT that is the reason I love eating there. Sitting in a booth at Jim’s takes me back to other times in my life. With so much change in life, coming in the restaurant brings back happy times. I love the white uniforms, the quick attention that is paid to everyone who comes through the door, and the menu stays the same. There is always a smile on the faces of all who work there and the food is always great. You really need to make plans when in Huntington to stop at Jim’s. I rate my experience as priceless.
Went to this well-known restaurant for dinner on a Saturday evening and it was very crowded. The owners have done a wonderful job of maintaining the feel of the original 50’s diner atmosphere. Autographed photos of celebrities who have visited there cover the walls. I tried the spaghetti with meat sauce, which was really good… but it wasn’t fantastic. The staff was very friendly and helpful whenever we had a question. Overall, a great place to take the family for a spaghetti dinner. CASH ONLY.
Jim’s history alone is a good reason to visit, it as if a piece of the 60’s still exists today. The food is good for the whole family. I recommend the Large spaghetti and an apple pie for desert. Pie is on the house for Marshall students.
Historic at the Most. Sure this place has been around forever and it’s something to see, but the food is just blah. The spaghetti is just ok, and the pies aren’t standout. Sandwiches are ok. There is nothing here but history.
The spaghetti was pretty good but didn’t live up to the hype. Service was awful, our waitress was very rude & would interrupt every time we spoke to her.
Been going there for years!. I have been going to Jim’s since I was about 16 years old. I’m 64 now. About all that has changed is the attitude of the owner! Jimmy (the daughter) is rude, condescending and arrogant.During the strawberry pie week, she almost acts like she has to ration it out! For the love of God, woman, what does it matter if a person wants 1 slice to go or 4! Sell them the dang pie! I understand them wanting people to eat and leave, especially if there is a line. Seating people is money. The reason they do not take credit cards is they don’t want to part with the %’s they have to pay the credit card companies! I for one do like their spaghetti and fish, their steak sandwiches are also good and they are,not, as another person said, Buzz buttered patties.
