Still the best…. The only thing I can say to the nay-sayers is, hot dogs are a regional taste but for my money Stewarts is the best regional or not. I compare them everywhere I go, have tried to duplicate their sauce (without success)and nothing beats an original Stewarts Hot Dog. I’m one of those who has them shipped when I am missin’ home.
Don’t believe the hype. I read about people sending these via the mail to relatives out of town. Must be starving in Ethiopia.I’m not a fan. Grainy sauce. That’s what you get on your dog. Frostop and Hillbilly Hotdogs beat this place hands down.Points though for the cool old location.
I use to like this place until…. My nephew worked here and told me about the nasty things that go on here. They have a garbage can with old buns/ bread that’s mildewing right next to the food / prep area sometimes they use it to prop open the door. Also the owner discourages them from using gloves when cooking to keep cost down. They do not dump their hot dog boiler and clean it after every work day so old hotdog and other things will be floating in the water thats cooking your hot dog. It really tore me up to hear this from him but I just won’t go there anymore. He told me this about 3 months ago when he use to work there. He has since quit. I hope its changed but i will never know.
Still the best. Don’t believe the BS being fed to you. Stewarts is still by far the best hot dog stand in the area (no matter what location you go to). For the most authentic experience, you have no choice but the 5th Avenue location.Over the years the menu has grown greatly and includes many items that will appeal to more than just the hot dogs & fries crowd.
WET. The hotdogs are waaaaaay to soggy and soaked, don’t know why. Do people like that??????
