Fast food you can believe in. Big fans of Chick-fil-A in general and this location in particular. The food is–well, it’s what you get at every Chick-fil-A: quality-assured, sodium-laced, meat-heavy chicken sandwiches with a carton of waffle fries. But boy it’s good. This location is staffed by fresh-faced teens who look as apple-pie sweet as a herd of Leave It To Beaver extras. There’s one forty-something employee who busses tables and mops the floor, and he’s just tops; my wife literally believes he’s an angel in disguise. We like to sit by the kids area and watch the children through sound-proof glass. The incessant Christian music gets old fast–it’s got to be company policy, like the Closed-on-Sundays rule–but it’s a small price to pay for great service, clean dining, and, of course, a couple of pickles and a fist of chicken squished between buttered buns.

Disappointed recently. My wife works at WVU Hospital and received some coupons to get free chicken sandwiches. Now, I love Chick-Fil-A customer service. Their food is great (if a leeeettle pricey), and we often go on Family Nights, which is a great idea. Often, their managers ask us if we would like drink refills. They’re terrific. But I went through the drive-thru and wanted to use these coupons to pick up the sandwiches for my family, and they would only give me two, because I was alone in the vehicle. A small storm cloud in an otherwise clear sky. Is this some dark sign? Only time will tell. But if you want to use coupons, you better take your family, and friends. And complete strangers, if you want, ‘cuz they torqued me off with that move.
