  I thought this place was fairly good at first… the prices were nice (I was here tonight.). I got a couple craft beers and the cheese sticks for a total of $12.75 (with a $1.65 tip). However, after I got my bill, I decided I wanted a 3rd drink… and the lady behind the bar said that she already closed my tab, therefor, I couldn’t get another drink! I have been to hundreds of bars and I have never been told that I couldn’t get another food item or drink item after closing my tab, so I felt a tiny bit insulted by that. This was about 3 months ago (February 18 or 19, 2017). I also hope to see a better selection of craft beers in the future.Mischa J.

  Good friends and Good times. My memories of this place go back to the day the doors opened for the first time. Many of the friendships that I have today were established in this very place that offers great food and fun and the best service around. Where else can you sit with friends drink beer, play trivia, poker, and a board game all at the same time. It still has a traditional Irish atmosphere as I remember and it seems whenever I go I can catch and old friend or leave with making a few new ones. Did I mention they also have just about any beer know to man.

  My Favorite!. The Home of The Irish Car Bomb!This is a complete onesided review of McClafferty’s Irish Pub located in Morgantown, WV. It has to be; I helped open the pub in the fall/winter of 2000. I was one of the first employees to pour a perfect Guinness, dance an Irish jig, and offer a helpful word to a patron in need of encouragement. Before the days of Chez and Macaroni, I was Heather Mac, McClafferty’s original manager and bartender! I have since retired from the bar business, but still like to go back and visit the establishment that I helped create.McClafferty’s Irish Pub is located on the corner of University Avenue and Walnut Street near the Mon River in Morgantown, WV. It is a cozy, warm, and friendly atmosphere and the staff pride themselves on having a wide variety of beers, drinks, and fun available. It offers up to 21 beers on tap, many different bottled beer selections, many specialty drinks, and a complete food menu. Prices are incredibly reasonable. They offer several forms of entertainment-Juke Box featuring many local bands plus the favorites, Golden Tee, 2 dart boards, pool table, Video Lottery Machines, board games, NTN Trivia, live music, and multiple big screen TVs for your sports viewing pleasure! The bartenders, staff, and Shelly, the manager, are fantastic and are there to help you have a fun, safe, and enjoyable evening out.
