Overcooked food. Brococoli was overcooked/chicken tough and overcooked..and you don’t dare call and tell these people they overcoooked the food, because they’ll argue up and down with you…I think it all comes out of a box..07 Feb, 2015Overcooked food. My broccoli/rice/chicken were all overcooked and hard as a rock…..and overseasoned. The total meal was a mess…and unedible.
Best in Town. I cant speak highly enough about Peking House as I have never had anything other than a wonderful experience there. The restaurant is a mix of quaint casual Chinese mixed with some quirkiness. The bar and tvs for example feels like an odd touch in a dimly lit restaurant where they serve you tea with your meal even. Ha. I love it though and they dont distract from your visit. I have tried a number of dishes, but my favorite and go-to is the Sesame Chicken. Unlike Sesame Chicken from most takeout Chinese spots, this chicken is super tender inside and flash fried for a crispy outside. It has just the right amount of sauce and is delicious. The star though is the dumplings and sauce. Hands down the BEST dumplings and sauce Ive had at any Chinese Restaurant ever. I also think the subgum soup is very good. The wait staff has always been very sweet and courteous as well as accommodating. The owner is very friendly and will greet you/make small talk if its not overly busy. I have no negatives I can even begin to point out for Peking House, so I’d say to avoid the more expensive and less tasty Asian Bistro and come here. Well worth it.
