Better than ever. I’ve been going to The Grind for many years, intermittently. It has recently switched ownership, and now Rich, the fellow making the lattes for some time, is running the place. The changes are great so far. I’m not a big coffee person, but their is strong and flavorful. They have tasty chai, and they offer soy milk options in lattes for the lactose intolerant or vegan. The sandwiches are usually good. The new management has added an assortment of soups, salads, and scones/muffins that are baked in house, instead of being bought in as they were under the previous regime. I would recommend The Grind any time. Try parking on Chestnut street for easiest access.
Great lunch place. I’ve been going to the Grind for a bit over a year. One note, they do accept credit cards now. It’s one of the best lunch spots in town; pretty cheap good sandwiches, and great coffee and coffee drinks. It just changed hands and names (now The Grind WV I believe), but I hear from people who work there that it will essentially stay the same. The only down side in my mind is that there isn’t much sitting room, so it can become crowded very quickly. Also, no parking except the metered lot behind the building or on street parking. Neither are issues for me as I typically walk there and get food to go.
This place is great for lunch/brunch. The reason I love it so much is because the first time I went there I didn’t have cash and the cashier said just to pay him back later! The staff is extremely friendly and service is nice. Cozy environment and good food.
Good coffee…decent sandwiches. First, they only take cash. That makes it hard to go there if you live a cashless life. But, the coffee almost makes it worth it. The sanwiches are blah. Not bad, but not delicious, either. Try an italian soda! Very nice.
Both the best coffee and the best deli sandwiches in Morgantown. Throw in wonderful people, and I find myself there multiple times a week; sometimes multiple times a day.
Warm on a cold, rainy day. And there are a lot of cold, rainy days in Morgantown. It’s the best mocha I can get in Morgantown, comparable to San Francisco. Great people, great location.
Best Coffee in Town. Definitely the best coffee in town. I’ve worked at many a coffee shop in my day, and Rich and company know what they’re doing. It’s such a treat on a rainy day to get a soy latte with a heart or leaf frothed into the milk. The sandwiches are tasty and priced right. I work on campus, so it’s convenient for me, but parking is a problem. Still, for the love of all things Morgantown, please go to Jay’s rather than the Starbucks in the Lair or Library. Let’s keep our businesses local!
