Bad Experience !. First off we ordered green tea, it was Luke warm, then we both ordered steak and Chicken Hibachi brought steak for me and Chicken for my husband then I asked the waiter did you hear us say Steak and chicken? He said yes the cook messed up? Then said do you want to just share ? Wow! No atmosphere at all and no Personalty either ! Won’t Be Back!
Always great service and the food is not overpriced. As far as I am concerned, it’s the only sushi place in Motown!
Superb.. The best sushi spot in town at the moment. Everything is generally great, from specialty rolls, to plain sashimi, to katsu. The service is very attentive (without being overwhelming or intrusive). Very nice hot green tea. Great spicy salmon roll and seaweed salad. Teriyaki salmon is nice, with perfectly grilled fish that is juicy, and a rather light sauce. They also have nice light miso soup. No one I know has gotten a bad dish here. If I am on the Evansdale end of town at lunch, this is often the top choice. An easily overlooked gem is the small dish of Sunomono style pickles! This is served as a small free appetizer to every customer, and they are superb seaweed-and-cucumber Japanese style refrigerator pickles.
SO good!! The lunchbox is delicious and a great price. The staff does not speak English very well but are always friendly. Go visit!
Different Japanese side. The sushi was heavy on the cream cheese … decor of the half barrels on the wall was not Japanese like. Service was good … good menu …. will be back!
A must visit on every Motown visit!. The first time I went to Volcano, it was because my boyfriend had never tried sushi. The first place we stopped in at was Yama, as the US reviews were good. Once I saw the limited sushi menu, we headed to Volcano. I’m so glad we did! The sushi here is fantastic! Needless to say, Volcano won my boyfriend over and now we make sure to stop in when I’m in town. Everything I’ve tried here is very good. We always get the West Virginia roll and usually try a different roll along with it each time. We’ve had numerous appetizers, and each one has been tasty. The staff is efficient, but don’t expect them to be terribly chatty. I’m fine with that! Every time we’ve been, it’s been quiet, and cozy. I highly recommend Volcano if you want some fresh, great tasting sushi at reasonable prices!
Worth the price. Disclaimer: I have only experienced sushi from the likes of Kroger’s deli department and other WV restaurants. I may very well have the wrong idea about what Sushi is supposed to be about, but I have definitely liked what I have gotten when eating at Volcano.Their soups and salads are fantastic, and they seem to give out free cheesecake to everyone. How delightful!
