Well, I’ve been eating at Das Rookhaus for 20 years and it’s AMAZING. The hickory smoked meats and cheeses are the REAL DEAL . The owner smokes them right there at her shop and when you walk in you will fall in the love with the delicious aroma. The prices are great. The new location on Dudley Avenue is spacious and easily located with plenty of parking. You can plan to be in and out with your order within 5 minutes. Especially if you call ahead. Das has been around for 42 years for a good reason… its the best sub in town and they do party trays also. You can buy any of thier meats and cheeses by the pound, she makes ham salad and cheese salad on thursdays, you have to get it early because it sells out fast!

No A/C?. I have happily followed Sherry and her delicious subs from her Traffic Circle location, to the hole in the wall under the NET, and now to her new place on Dudley Ave over the years. She undoubtedly makes the best subs in town with superb smoked meats and cheeses, and at a reasonable price too. Her new location is the best yet, but I noticed about a month ago that her air conditioning wasn’t keeping up. She was advising customers she was having a problem but to basically suck it up…she wasn’t about to fork over the money to go fix it anytime soon. Haven’t been in there until this week and I instantly notice that it is quite a bit warmer inside than it is outside. No kidding: 86 outside and 92 displayed on her thermostat! I didn’t mind getting my sandwich to go, but sometimes I want to sit down in a restaurant and eat instead of going back to work and eating at my desk, or spilling sauce all over myself and my seats while I eat in my car. Just hope she decides to bite the bullet and get her A/C fixed before she loses all of her customer base!
The subs here are delicious! I could really ear here everyday of the week, plus it is relatively cheap!
Great Subs. I’ve been a fan of Das Rookhaus since it opened years ago. Even though their location has changed over the years, the taste of a Das Rookhaus sub has not – it is always great! I particularly like the Dagwood while my wife likes the hot Italian sub. I’ve had every sub on the menu and must say they are all super. You can’t go wrong with a Das Rookhaus sub! Stop by soon and bring cashit is well worth it.
So Good. Wish it was in a better location…. hate going in there and people asking for beer.. when the bar is upstairs…the subs are really good… I always tip.
