We went to have dinner for a birthday It was the first time trying the place It was packed and finding the hostess to check in was difficult since they are not near the entrance The coat check was nice but hadn’t mentioned anything when we entered The snack bar reminds me of my Grandma’s typical Wisconsin spreads, the salad was the best part of the meal Next we had both soups chicken was Progresso’s French onion was burnt/old tasting The prime rib was tough and unseasoned The lobster was dry and overlooked Neither were warm or even tasted good The scalloped potatoes were frozen hash brown mush, baked potato and 2 dinner rolls were normal though sour cream was watered down Awful food and expensive big waste of money
Let’s see first the restaurant smelled like farts. I ordered a steak with a baked potato and it came with soup, a salad and trips to the snack bar (yes you read it right a snack bar) I’m pretty sure the soup was cambells, the salad was ok, the potato was a rock and not eatable, the steak tasted decent. I felt like I was in an episode of kitchen nightmares haha!
A steak house with an identity crisis. I just couldn’t figure out what this place is all about but it was sure interesting to try. The service was O.K. but the flatware was dirty and had to be sent back. The salad bar was actually a garnish bar. No, really. It was better equipped to garnish a mixed drink than to fill a small plate. The decor was a strange mix of Robin Hood meets country kitchen meets boozy piano bar depending on which room you were in….Strange to say the least. The steak I ordered was prepared well and was served all by itself on a skillet that looked like it had seen better days. The bread service was pretty ho-hum with refrigerated butter that needed to be scraped onto the bread. Overall I would not go back due to the rather spartan dinner service and poor decor.
Poor service. Very disappointing service; It took approximately 90 minutes from the time we sat down until we were served our entrees. Soup was delivered to table at room temperature. Steak was excellent just as it has always been since I started going to Georges Supper Club twenty years ago. I mentioned that I was disappointed about the cold soup and the poor service as I was paying my bill , but the manager did not seem to care. We will not be back again.
Great Atmosphere and History! Food was great too. Who wouldn’t love a huge table topped grand piano! I will definately go there again.
Fine dining without the attitude or the price. Quite possibly the best brandy old fashioned I’ve ever had! Always excellent food. Great service & the owners are wonderful friendly people.
