Bland as can be Pizza. Okay, my husband & I were there probably a couple years ago. The pizza back then was flavorful. Fast forward to last night….Ordered pizza. One of my favorite things on pizza is the sauce, cheese & crust. Toppings are secondary. The sauce had absolutely no flavor, neither did the cheese. The crust well–that was thin & very doughy, almost like they didn’t finish cooking it. Unless they were getting huge orders as carryout, no excuse–as there was only one other couple in the dining area. We will never go back. Pizza is too common, and there are a number of places that are so much better. I am still mulling over how something can actually not have any flavor at all. How does that even happen?

Very bad food and service. We ate at the restaurant around 8:30 in the evening. The atmosphere left a lot to be desired. The Italian sausage sandwichs that we had were not good. The bread that they were on, was a bread, that I would not choose, if I owned the restaurant. The bread makes the sandwich! Poor choice. Would never go back!

DeMarini’s Has THEE Greatest Pizza Period!!. I’ve been eating DeMarini’s Pizza since I was 3 or 4 years old. Great location, great atmosphere, and always a friendly and courteous staff.

Very Disappointing. After living in Bay View for 50 years and eating at the original de Marini’s countless times – this place is a complete let down. I’m afraid this restaurant is coasting on an old name to people who seemingly don’t know any better. Salads made of iceberg lettuce, pizzas that have rubbery crusts, CANNED(?) mushrooms and a sauce that tastes like Ragu from a jar. Nothing about the pizza we had was Italian. Nothing. I’ve had free samples at Sams Club that tasted better than what I was served. After the original closed, I was so hoping for a taste of the delicious pizza I remembered. Fail. I should have known when I walked in, waited 5 minutes to be greeted and then have a woman act like she was put-out that she had to saunter through the dinning room to seat us. They’re very lucky to have a large contingency in the neighborhood who grew up during the depression and think this food is acceptable.

Worst experience in a long time. We had used a promo coupon to finally try de Marinis. After living in the neighborhood for a few year we had high hopes for the food & experience. Our hopes crashed explosively during our dining experience at Dom & Phil de Marinis. It has a great location, view, and 1960’s country club look (which could use some tending)… but hopes were still up. We were seated in their extremely loud dining area (no sound buffers at all, hard on conversation) furnished ala uncomfortable 1960’s dining hall. We all choose different dinner items, soup & dinner salad. All meals were small portioned and no effort was made in the presentation on the plates. -The soup, served in a small cup, was barely warm & tasted canned. -The salad was primarily iceberg which had to be cut, with no other color vegetation other than a tomato. -The same heavily spiced marinera sauce was used on everything, be it the main course, the side pasta, or the appetizer. -The meat of the meals (chicken, pork, fish) were all very small portioned, overdone (the pork chop was inedibly overdone/old & had to be sent back) & overpriced at the $10 range. The good side? The coupon. We didn’t pay full price.

The food was not good. The sauce was bland and the pizza suffered because of it. The garlic bread was burned Texas Toast with a slice of melted cheese and not seasoned. They messed up my order and made my wife and I feel not wanted. They stared at us like we didn’t belong there(I am black by the way). I stayed nice the whole time, but will not go back.

Ordered 2 fish Fries when I got home from picking them up the fish was very over fried and it was dry, I called and got a credit, the next day I ordered a pizza and garlic bread of course when I got home the garlic bread ( which was 4 pieces of Italian bread) was burnt the pizza looked good however the top of the crust was still raw, I called and talked to the manager Al and told him the problem and that this was the second night in a row, he told me there was nothing he could do unless he could see it, I emailed him a picture of the garlic bread and pizza he called me back and said he would credit me for the garlic bread ($3) but not for the pizza because it looked good in the picture and they have been making pizza all night and no one else has complained, this is unbelievable … I told him I was un happy and would not ever come back and he hung up on me…this is the worst customer service I have ever had.
