Crazy Good Pies. My time in Milwaukee was drawing to a close so I felt perfectly justified in ordering three desserts. I had the Chocolate Pie, Strawberry Rhubarb with locally made vanilla ice cream, and Caramel Apple Crumble. They were all insanely delicious. The chocolate was rich and dense, the rhubarb well balanced, and not too juicy. The apple crumble was perfect. It almost brought me to tears walking out of there, knowing I can’t just go back for pie any day of the week. (they don’t have pie where I live). The service was great, and the ambiance warm and eclectic….love those cute blue and white cloth napkins. I miss you Honey Pie. copulacoffee.com
Saw nice reviews on line, so we drove quite a ways to have brunch. The owner/ man at the bar actually asked us to leave because we got there ten minutes before 10 am (the door was open and we thought their brunch started at 9) It was 15 degrees outside. We waited in the cold anyway since we had come so far. The female owner? was equally as inhospitable and snippy. Apparently they don’t care if they get new business or not. Needless to say we and our family won’t be coming back.
Loved it all . Kinda pokey service but super nice and friendly . Drinks are very reasonably priced and strong. Food was very fresh and made perfectly . I recommend the grilled cheese , hands down best I’ve ever had . Very romantic back patio with string lights so you can stay there all night 🙂 love love love this place
Reuben bliss. Pork belly reuben was so yummy, and I seldom eat pork or meat. Impressive..
Sunday Brunch. Went for Sunday brunch around 2:30 and sat at the bar. The brunch menu changes to a lunch menu at 3:00. Rustic atmosphere and laid back crowd. Ordered the short rib sandwich and the lambwich- both very good. Had celery root slaw, which was great as you don’t see it often. Menu is creative and executed well. Home cut fries. Overall the food was good. I usually expect a bit more personal service sitting at the bar, but we were very disappointed. The waitstaff managing the bar area was unattentive, slow and not very friendly. We are very easy to please, but didn’t even get a smile out of any of the waitstaff- pretty disappointing and does not match the atmosphere or the food. Had chocolate cream pie and bourbon pie to go and both were very good.
Not Impressed. Heard good things about this restaurant so my girlfriend and I decided to have lunch here. The atmosphere seemed just right for having a good lunch, however, that feeling dived out the window after waiting for 15 minutes just to get our order in and 30 minutes for the food to be served. Keep in mind we were having lunch at 2:30 and there were 4 other tables occupied besides ours. Not busy. I had the porkslaw and would rate it a 5 on a scale of 1-10. My girlfriend had the solid state and says it was a 7. Two of my friends that recommended this place to me both had breakfast here, so maybe the breakfast is good. Don’t know.
Great place to eat. This place is cozy and fun. Food is wonderful.
