Nice surprise!. Small in appearance and the staff was amazing and the food was delicious. being from the south this is a high standard. definitely a do over and over!
Ordered the chicken dinner for two and I’ve got to say, from the vibe I wouldn’t have thought this place could cook up a meal so good. Don’t listen to the other reviews, the food was great and the gravy they serve with the dinner is the best I’ve had since living in the South. One of the better places I’ve been to in Milwaukee.
Huge Improvement in Menu. I actually had to create an account on this site to write a positive review after reading so many people complaining about the new menu. Restaurants that sling deep fried bar food are a dime a dozen in Milwaukee, as are dive bars. Palomino took a chance by upgrading their menu to have fresh and local ingredients, and flavorful food that is well prepared. I’ve had their smoked duck, as well as one of their delicious burgers with Pimento cheese. I can’t wait to go back and try more. Yes, we all hate change, but if its a change for the positive (aka yummier food), I’m all for it!
Wow….we stopped in for brunch before catching the ferry and we were pleasantly surprised. My husband got the falafal po boy and I got the brisket hash and bloody Mary. It was all amazing flavors-the bloody even had homemade jerky in it. I can’t wait to come back and try more of the interesting menu.
The new menu is quite good. If you are a meat eater. However very expensive for what u get. Everything u order ala cart and sides are expensive for what you get. I ordered a side of wildfired vegtables and all I got was two small cabbage leafs for $4. Really? They tasted great but come on. Literally two small cabbage leafs for $4. They need to work on there pricing. The burgers are yummy. I felt the burgers were worth it for $8 since they are grassfed. I am willing to pay more for healthier and more ethically raised cow. The menu has changed so for all of u old school Palomino peeps you will be disappointed. Especially our vegans and vegetarians are bumming. They have some stuff for our veggie friends but not like they used two:( My husband had the falafal po boy which was good he said however he wants more veggie options. The $8 Bloodys were freakin awesome and super spicy with pickled beets, Mushrooms, and beef jerkey and beer chaser. They have some great new things going on here. However please work on that veggie menu! Tweak your pricing a bit and you have a great place!
I used to like Palomino. A lot.Alas, some fool had to change the whole menu around and they ruined it.I won’t be back here with this menu. What a shame, as I considered this place a gem in Milwaukee.
Bad menu since the reopen. We were really looking forward to the reopening as we used to go here probably 10 times a year. (We live in a suburb or would have been here more often.)Virtually everything my gluten free vegetarian husband and I (being low carb) used to come here for is GONE. We sat down outside as it was a lovely day. Didn’t bother to go inside to look at the remodeling because the menu now had nothing we could have. Even if we could have had any item, there was nothing that looked interesting enough to bother with after that rug having been pulled out from under us. Goodbye Palamino. We’re sorry to see you jump off the cliff in your attempt to jump the shark.
