NEVER GOING BACK. We had reservations for 5:30 P.M. on Saturday. Most of our party was there at 5:20. My husband and I were running late by 15 minutes. Prior to our arrival the manager told our party they would have to hurry up and place their order. My brother in law called us to inform us he needed to take our order over the phone. When we arrived the restaurant was overly crowded to the point several people were uncomfortable. The food was NOT good. There were several complaints from my party. The mussels were not good, the calm pasta didn’t have calms in it, and everything had the same white sauce…. The pizza was ok. I went to lunch prior and had a homemade pizza built my way for half the price!I never write reviews…but Tenuta is a NO GO!
Bad experience. My 74 year old mother and I were looking for a place to eat and I spotted Tenuta’s. I’d been intending to try this place anyway so we pulled up and entered. We were immediately accosted by some uniformed waiter , a short male . He said they were closed for a private party ( fine, but you could put a sign at the door ) and pushed my mother towards the door by her shoulder. Now I doubt I ever will patronize Tenuta’s .
Very nice. This place was great. Set on a corner in an old house in a nice Milwaukee neighborhood wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, but it was cool. The $$$ I think is a bit off (or rated a bit high), but I may be comparing my experience to Chicago or Seattle costs, which are much higher.Food & drinks were great. Fairly extensive wine list. I’d definitely recommend & will go back
Food was a pleasant surprise not a canned tomato in sight Service was excellent
I enjoyed my basic salad…martini was okay (negroni) and had the penne italian sausage..I didnt find the waitstaff very attentive…wasnt even asked if I wanted another drink. I enjoyed my experience overallb but I would not consider it fine dining by any means. Notb the best italian ive had..not the worst.
USED to be a favorite. I used to frequent Tenuta’s on a regular basis. I LOVE their sauce! As far as the pasta, I’ve ever had there has been outstanding. I’m not a fan of their pizza, but you can get pizza at a thousand different places. What has turned me off of this place is the owner. The last time I was at Tenuta’s I brought my parents from out of town. We had a reservation for Saturday night and had to wait a bit for our table. No biggie, we just sat at the bar and ordered a drink. Fifteen minutes later the hostess comes over to tell us that our wait has been extended because the owner decided to come in with his family to eat. Ummm….what???? First of all, I can’t believe she even told us this. Secondly, it speaks volumes as to how the owner views his customers. One of my biggest pet peeves is when you walk into an establishment and the owner is taking up space for paying patrons. Needless to say, I may never be back to Tenuta’s. I love their food and the service is always top notch, but the owner has left a very sour taste in my mouth.
I went here with my whole Family on my 21st Birthday last year and it was phenomenal!!!. Definetely one of the Best Itailian Restaurants in Milwaukee
