Always on my home-list!. I love Three Brothers, and I have loved it for over 30 years. I love the atmosphere – truly an old Milwaukee tavern – and the food is excellent. It’s small and your entree is not prepared until you order – hence the long wait. But the old kitchen tables and the table lamps on each table give the restaurant its own aura… I only return to Milwaukee now every year or maybe two, but I almost always make it back to Three Brothers. I’ve traveled a lot – all over the world – and Three Brothers is still one of my very favorite restaurants.
Long, long wait. Atmosphere: Depressing and boring. They must turn on the music only in the evening. The wait: Forever, for EVERYTHING, besides the Burek.Served water with no ice. Sausages floating in grease, and mediocre stuffed peppers. If you don’t bring cash or a check, you are out of luck.I don’t know how they stay open and cannot imagine where some of these glowing reviews came from. Go and report back!
The food is great but it takes a very long time. They make that clear on their menu. Cute atmosphere.
Awesome service. The food was incredible. Made our friends birthday celebration very special.
Best in Milwaukee!. My favorite place in town. Originally read about it in the New York Times (when their food critic came to Milwaukee), tried it, and have been back many times – for birthdays, and whenever we have guests from out-of-town. The Burek is sensational – but I haven’t had anything there that is less than delicious. Service is top class, atmosphere is intimate and classic. Truly the best of Milwaukee.
Best use of leftovers. Order the Burek (spinach is best) and get Big Ed’s gouda from the South Shore Farmers Market. Reheat the Burek per the waitress’s directions (they tell you exactly) – 10 minutes before the burek is fully reheated shread the gouda on top so it can melt and fry up some eggs. Serve with coffee and OJ. Your guests will think you are amazing!
