Had the gyro plate, was more like a platter!!! So amazing!! Had a side salad with a few grape leafs and side order of feta cheese..the gyro pita is remarkable, everything is so fresh when served and hands down amazing meal. Every dine in table has a whole bottle of their homemade tzatziki sauce to Come out with your meal. Amazing! Service was great too!! Cant wait to go back next time 🙂
What’s Not to Like?. Great Greek food and gyros, imaginative and totemic decorating, friendly and helpful staff — even the bathroom was decorated well. But the food is the draw, both for its flavors and its value. Tonight, we tried the fish fry in addition to our usual gyros, saganaki, and avgolemono. It was so good the gyros went into a container for tomorrow’s lunch — for two. Also, for people not feeling like meat in their entree, try the Paris pita — one of the best and least known dishes on Apollo’s menu. Very refreshing, filled with fresh lettuces and a tremendous olive spread.Tremendous place.
Amazing!. Four of us had planned a trip to Milwaukee–particularly the Brady Street area. We were looking for somewhere different to go for lunch, and since there aren’t many Greek places in our area (Fond du Lac, WI) we decided to give Apollo Cafe a shot. We were NOT disappointed! On the inside the cafe is beautifully decorated, just adorable! It is cozy and warm, very charming, could not ask for a better atmosphere! We ordered and within 10 minutes had our food. The Greek Fries with oregano and feta were out of this world! Two of us ordered the Gyro. They said it was one of the best they’ve ever had! I had the Chicken Souvlaki which was so good I wish I ordered one to bring home for dinner! And the last of us had the Paris Pita, which is vegetarian but was still absolutely phenomenal! With the Gyro comes a bottle of what I believe is cucumber sauce to put on the pita bread once you’ve added the meat. I used that on the Chicken Souvlaki and it made the sandwich even better. All of the sandwiches can be served with fries, salad, or soup. Bottom line is that this place is amazing! The people are so friendly and you don’t have to wait long to get your food. Definitely going to be added to our Milwaukee restaurant rotation! I don’t have a bad thing to say about it. Apollo Cafe is just out of this world.
Really good!. Greek fries were amazing, the Lemon Rice soup was also a hit. I noticed the greens they used for my Greek salad were not just the mediocre Bibb style lettuce, but a really nice dark green variety. My Gyro was fantastic, good quality meat with ample flavor. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed the Athenian chicken
Quality Food/Reasonable Prices. Been to Apollo many times. Always left satisfied. Large portions, QUALITY and good prices. Spinach pie is a hit. The gyro is a hit. Can’t go wrong no matter what you choose. Find street parking or use the lot in back. One of my favorites.
Best Greek Restaurant. This is by far the best Greek restaurant in Milwaukee. Perfect location, and I’ve always been satisfied. I always end up getting a gyro, but they do it so perfectly each time. Always consistent.
I know Greek Food. Apollo does it almost as good as yia yia and mom’s cooking! Casual atmosphere, you order at the counter and cafe-like surroundings with Greek music in the backround add to the flavor of this Milwaukee gem. My favorite is the Greek Chicken, with a side Athenian Salad and a cup of Avgolemeno (Egg Lemon) Soup. Beer, wine or sodas are there for the thirsty. Staff is hard working and serve up a plateful!
