I have been there several time. My wife and I went there New Years eve. The first thing that struck me were the jacked up prices. The cheapest entre was $36. We started with some fried brie. It was $10 and was about four small bites. We had to ask for bread. My wife liked her salmon and shrimp entre. I had the rib eye steak. It was grossly and fat, had no seasoning at all. Everything else was bland and re-heated. I thought it was terrible. It would have been terrible at the Texas Road House, but about 1/3 the price.
Saucy. The food was delicious- however, too much sauce on everything. Ask for light dressing, light sauce etc. One in our group got the steak ravioli and you could barely see the steak under the gorgonzola sauce- she said the steak was cooked perfectly however and other than the sauce looked excellent.
Post Script. I wrote a review about our dining experience on 4/13/2013. In all fairness I wanted to let you know that I did email the restaurant to see if they had wanted to comment but did not hear from them. I am presuming that for this establishment losing a customer is not a big deal. $200+ for dinner for four deserves more attention when 3 out of 4 meals are sent back to the kitchen. I am not sure if this is acceptable ‘customer service’ for Duncan Creek but it is not for me nor anyone else that I know.14 Apr, 2013April 13 Dinner. New to town and brought our out of town friends to dinner. Wait staff~~Excellent!! Very busy evening at Duncan Creek….3 out of 4 dinners had to be returned to the kitchen for various reasons; too salty and cold. Had dessert~yummmm. Owners did not approach us nor did they offer to comp a dessert or even offer a complimentary cocktail. Not the kind of service that we had expected for the caliber restaurant of this kind.
Dinner. We just finished having dinner at the Duncan Creek Winebar and Grille. Our food was ultimately good. 3 of the 4 of us had to send our food back because it was cold. The management didn’t offer to ease our dining experience. They didn’t offer to comp a dessert or one of the returned meals. The owner didnt feel that it was important enough and come and talk to us. Poor management. The next time we are in Chippewa Falls, we will try one of the other restaurants and not return here.
Fantastic=pricey. The food was FANTASTIC in every way. We felt the wine was really good, but I am new to wine. But to say it was pricey is an understatement. We loved it!! But it was a once in a lifetime splurge to celebrate our anniversary. Four of us went and each had a glass of wine on Valentines day and our ticket was over $200.00! It tasted wonderful and had fantastic service, but we cannot afford to do this again.
The food is Delish! Wine….not so hot.. Duncan Creek WInebar and Grille has some of the most Delishious food that you can find in the area. The atmosphere is charming and unfussy, albiet quite cramped.I was not unimpressed with the Wine selection (nothing that you can’t find at your neiborhood super market liqour dept) and their over-priced meager pours.
Decent wine list, excellant menu, good variety. Wait staff was exceptional, I felt like I was back in Paris. My new favorite restaurant in the valley. Will be back as often as I can.
