Good food, spotty service. My husband took me here on our first date and we’ve been back several times. I always order the parmesan NY Strip (he usually does too). In my experience it is always delicious and cooked properly. We wouldn’t recommend the steak medallions though, they were overcooked and very dry. The focaccia bread and oil is so good, I have to stop myself from devouring it all. They also have one of my all-time favorite restaurant deserts, a rich chocolate cake with whipped cream and cinnamon ice cream. The downside would be the service which is really spotty. The first time was great, the next few were not the best. One time I asked for a booth and despite us walking by 8 clean, empty booths on the way to our table at the back of the restaurant I was told that was not possible. The table we were given was practically on top of the table next to us, it seriously felt like we were tagging along on their date and felt really intrusive. The waitress also rushed us through dinner that night. While the food is good enough to go back to be the service is equally important so hopefully they have improved the service.

Terrible Attitude and Rude Service. We went without reservations after arriving late from out of town. No more than half the tables in the restaurant were filled. The hostess was snobby and asked if we had reservations and when we said we didn’t, she said it would be a 25-30 minute wait. To say we were offended and insulted would be understated. We will not be back, ever. They need to work very hard on improving their attitudes and their attention to serving customers.

This is hands down my favorite restaurant. We have eaten at Johnny’s numerous times and have always had excellent service & excellent steak. I love the Parmesan crust and pasta as a side dish. The atmosphere is great too!

Wonderful brunch. Just got back from a great experience with 10 other people… The food was amazing, staff very friendly and efficient and the price was quite reasonable. The prime rib was to die for, and the variety of foods was also excellent. I miss the Concourse Brunch but this one was/is probably the closest we can get to the Concourse. If you need a place to have a great brunch, this is your spot!

Can’t get it together. Our celebration turned out to be a huge mess. We had reservations for 7:15. We got seated on time but they were overbooked. There were so many filled tables in our room that you couldn’t get out of your chair. The waitress showed up for our drink order around 7:30. The drinks showed up at 7:50. She took our order around 8:00. The salad showed up around 8:30. The food came to our table at 9:20 and it was cold, which was too bad because it may have tasted better if it was warmer than room temperature. The wait staff did the best they could, but this place is obviously mis-managed. There were tables with prom-goers and tables for the celebration of UW-Madisons graduation. The management knew it was going to be busy, yet they were so understaffed, it was pathetic. The manager on duty blamed the kitchen staff. It’s so wrong to point fingers at certain members of your staff when it’s not their fault. It was very disappointing do have all this happen to us when we were looking forward to a celebration. This restaurant needs to send their management to some kind of training, or find people who can do the job.
