Avanti Italian Restaurant Verona WI. After driving by this restaurant several times I decided it was time to give it a try. Surprisingly, they take reservations. We had dinner reservations for 6pm. We showed up early and consumed a beverage at the bar (do not order mixed drinks as they are way too expensive considering the low quality ingredients used). Upon entering, this eatery appears in poor condition with a very low quality set-up. While the bar is decent(all wood), low-quality tables are scattered in the small rooms, with no apparent order. We were seated by 6pm (thumbs up) but it took 20 minutes to get our order placed and actual dinner arrived 2 hours (YES, TWO HOURS!) after giving our order. People were complaining and some even leaving. Management agreed to comp guests with free beverages (my spouse had water…), but we wanted our food. I had the ribs, which were small. The sauce had an excellent taste and the ribs were hot but the garlic mashed potatoes did not taste nor have the consistency of real potatoes. For the price (twenty-something dollars for the ribs), and the poor quality of most everything else, go somewhere else. Your money will be better spent on better food and certainly in a better eating environment.
It’s ok every now and then. The food is hit and miss, heavy on the salt and garlic here. We used to go there alot, but not so much any more. Disappointed that the menu and quality of the steaks aren’t better.
We had good food. Avanti’s was busy on the Saturday night we went there. I had BBQ ribs and french onion soup. Both were really good. DH had the spaghetti and meatballs which were very good. His house salad was better than the average restaurant dinner salad. Overall we were pleased. About the steaks. We didn’t try them but they seemed high priced. The special was the ribeye which was still $22. Too much for my wallet.
The food tastes like frozen tv dinners. Avoid this place.
It’s not one of my favorites. I’ve been to Avanti a few times, and it’s really just OK, but not great. The food is hit or miss. The steaks are very fatty and the pasta is nothing special. The service is very hit or miss too. I’ve had a few good servers and several bad ones. I go every great once in a while, simply because it’s convenient, but if I can go somewhere else, I will.
It’s a Once In A While place. My wife and I go on occasion. It’s mostly hit or miss. Their pizza is NY style, and that’s the way I like it. Unfortunately, I have to agree about the steak review. You get a good one rarely, but the sides are great. I stay away from the pasta as too many times in the past, the sauce has been water logged. The live music (on rare occasion) is interesting, but can get really loud for a moderate sized building.
