Friggin fantastic flavors!
This is my favorite restaurant in De Pere. SALT has great food and a menu that changes seasonally. It’s surprisingly affordable for the quality of the food. Good drink menu too.
Great restaurant!. The food and service were spectacular. The menu had items for every palette and budget. The drink menu was also impressive.
Nice Idea-Needs Work. We finally tried S.A.L.T this past weekend and found the food to range from the tasty to the inedible. My shrimp tacos (once you overlooked the bits of shrimp shells left in) were really quite good, as was the meat loaf another in our group had. I can’t remember the cheese they topped the meat loaf with, but it was excellent. However, two of us had the asparagus with a poached egg, with the vegetable being cooked perfectly while the egg being grossly undercooked, which spoiled the dish. Another member had the hash, which is done chunky style, which is almost always a disaster, as this was. The first bite taken was of fat and gristle, which completely grossed out the guest and the waitress (who was very nice) took it off the bill without a problem. Another had the chicken cooked in waffle batter, which was another disaster. You get a leg and a thigh (bone-in), which is heavily covered with batter and fried and you have to tear it all apart because of the bones. They were not pleased. If they would use boneless thighs and tenders it would make a much more palatable dish. We talked to several others who had it and they all felt the same way. The whole meal was like this; some other items were either very good or mediocre or just not good. We will probably give them another try, but not for awhile.
