Disappointed. I wanted to try the new resturant because I saw good reviews -I ordered the Tamale special for the day and the waiter stated it was beef – I recived three tamalesa, one was beef and i am not sure what the other 2 were – I had a swirl of plum sauce and the tamales were dry and they did not have much flavor – It was not worth $19.00, it was severed with no sides. We did have a dessert and it do not have much flavor either. We will not be going there again. It was Disappointing,

A changed eatery. This place has drastically lowered their prices, and their service was impeccable. The sea bass? To die for. You absolutely WILL NOT get food this good outside of Chicago.

Excelente. We dined at Hispania last night and it was wonderful! It is a beautiful, upscale restaurant like you would find in Mexico City or Chicago. We ordered the table side guacamole and it was the most perfect and delicious guacamole we have ever had (and I lived in Mexico for three years, dine a nicer Mexican restaurants in the US and make guacamole at home). The service was excellent as well, very attentive. The cesar salad was really delicious, as well as the complimentary appetizer. The cocktails were great, we tried a Brazilian one because it was Brazilian night. The pastel de tres leches dessert was also the best I have ever had. We are planning on going back for their Argentinean night and for their Mon. night Spanish tapas.

This is an excellent restaurant! I think other who reviewed this are looking for cheap food. While this is not very expensive it is a little higher priced than usual (by average of $2!) but IT IS WORTH IT! Excellent food and great deserts.

Worst Place to go!. Went to dinner with my wife on friday nite, Let’s see, how many dislikes can I write it up for… Prices were WAY out of line, margaritas were below avg., had the ’empanadas’ I think they bought them frozen from walmart, salsa was store bought, saw the guacamole table go by, they wanted $12, or was it $15, bucks for a couple of smashed avacados and some onions and tomatoes! I ordered a pork special, shredded pork over rice. It came out and tasted like it was LLoyd’s barbeque pork over packaged rice pilaf! I was really p.o.ed, plus it took over an hour from our appetizer to main course! I won’t even go into how bad my wife’s beef tips were! Nothing, absolutely nothing GOOD here!

Good, but could be great. Enjoyed a great dinner here tonight. It’s a little upscale for the area. Waukesha county diners seem to prefer comfort food vs. gourmet dining. They think Mexican food should be cheap and heavy portions of beans, rice and deep-fried tortillas. If that’s what you are expecting, this is not the place for you. The menu changes regularly with food all prepared fresh. About half the items were some sort of fish, which suited me just fine. The food is not huge portions, which may upset those who prefer cheesecake factory style portions. For drinks we each had a fantastic fresh made margarita. Yes they are expensive, but they have fresh ingredients, not the pitcher of swill you get at many Mexican restaurants. We had empenadas for appetizers – 1 each of beef, chicken, mushroom, and bean. Served with a Mexican coleslaw which was fantastic! For dinner I had tilapia with prosciutto wrapped asparagus. Desert was prepared fresh – a pumpkin tart, which was delicious. I would definitely go back. I’m just afraid the place may be a bit sophisticated for the area. People around here don’t understand the whole quality vs. quantity equation. My only gripe with the place was the atmosphere. Music could barely be heard, and the lighting is horrible. They need some track lighting to highlight the artwork and interesting dividers with Mexican pottery and figures. Also the strange glass wall in the back looking over the serving area? I don’t get why that glass wall is there. Overall though I would give it an 8 on a scale of 1-10

HORRIBLE. My wife and I went to Hispania on a Saturday night around 7PM. Right from the beginning it was bad…When we arrived we asked to sit outside. The hostess said it would be 20-30 mins (not a problem), so we went to the bar. We sat there and got ignored by the manager/owner and bartender for at least 10 mins (until we asked to order). Got our drinks ($11 for a margarita in a highball glass is way to expensive). We had a seat and the hostess came over in a few mins and sat us down in a bench-style seat like the one a group would sit at for drinks before dinner. Not a good place to eat dinner! So we asked to move and she said we could move when they cleared the table off next to us (that took 10 mins). While waiting we ordered appetizers and waited, and waited, and waited for 30 mins! Finally I went to the hostess and said our waiter forgot about us. He came out with our appetizer apologizing, and apologizing, and apologizing (after the first 3 times it got old). We then ordered dinner and he brought out the wrong meals. So he took it back and again brought out luke-warm, bland, food (which was wrong again!) but we didn’t care because it was 9PM and wanted to leave. So we ate and while waiting for a $100+ bill for TWO people, the manager came out three times, PUSHING drinks on us. While they would have been free because of our horrible service, after someone tells you they don’t want anything else, don’t keep trying to push drinks on them!Bland, plan food. Small portions, extremely high prices. Inexperienced, nervous waiters/waitresses. Never going back and don’t recommend it to anyone.
