Our group of six decided to give Funk’s Pub a try this past Monday evening. It’s in a newer commercial area with plenty of parking. Most of the nearby businesses seemed to be closed when we arrived around 7:30 pm. It was about 25% full while we were there. There is a stage setup for live music although they were not playing. Our waitress was friendly, gave us menus and took our drink orders. You had to go up to the bar to see the beer listing, but our waitress was able to tell us what was available. The offerings seemed pretty diverse. The menu is pretty standard pub fare w/a few surprises like the Falafel Salad and Roasted Red Pepper soup. Our group ordered Fried Pickle Chips, Spinach and Artichoke Dip; the Mushroom and Swiss Burger, Tilapia Tacos; the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, and multiple Cubanos. Although it didn’t seem particularly busy, there was a significant wait between receiving our beverages, then one appetizer, then another, and finally our meals. Our waitress appeared to be the only one working and we wondered if perhaps they only had a single chef as well. The food was very good. The pickles came with two dips, one of which had just a bit of spice. The spinach dip was creamy and delicious and was served with plenty of carrots, celery and chips although the chips were in small pieces. The tacos, the burger and the wrap all had good reviews but everyone with a Cubano said they were excellent. Pork, ham, bacon, roasted red pepper, pickles, provolone and Cajun mustard — not your typical Cubano. Most of us had pub chips with our meals. They were handmade, hearty and crispy. For pub food, I thought this was really good. The ambiance was fine, but if a band had been playing I think it would have been too loud. I do wish they had been a little faster in bringing out our orders, but again I wondered if they were just understaffed. I’d be happy to go back if I was in the area, but wouldn’t rush back otherwise.

Loved this placed as Byrds sort of fond of u t as Namio’s but you can clearly see the revamp into Funk’s is awesome. Our first time here and we love the beer and wine choices. The food was good too. I had the perch portion was disappointing. Only 1/2 a filet. ..but so tasty. Hubby had the swiss and mushroom burger – tasty. Clam chowder was awesome too!

Incredible!. Funk’s Pub is awesome – great service, great food, great atmosphere. My husband and went in to order some burgers to go. While we waited, we had a couple of beers and an order of their hand breaded cheese curds – outstanding! We got home to find that the to-go containers were laid out for takeout burger perfection. On the bottom of the box was the tomato, lettuce, onion and a pickle speaker. They then laid a piece of paper over the top of that, put the burger down, leaving the top bun off to the side. This genius packing ensured that nothing got soggy or wilted. The burgers were absolutely amazing. Sweet potato fries and house made chips (sliced super thin) were both awesome as well.

TwiceBlessed. Wrote a review a few years back, when this place was Namio’s, about how fortunate I was to find some of the best burgers in Madison just up the hill from where I live in Fitchburg. Well, ownership has changed; and this place has gotten EVEN BETTER! Same smashing burgers, some great new items on the menu, a beefed-up wait staff, and some live music. This is truly becoming a neighborhood pub for all ages.

We got really great service and the food was tasty. They offered a walnut burger for vegetarians, which isn’t something we get to eat everywhere! High five for the fried green beans too! Mitchell, our server, was super accommodating and really friendly. Worth checking out if you’re in Fitchburg!
