Do not plan on getting any service at this establishment unless you are sitting right at the bar. Went here once and grabbed a table with some co-workers and we had to all individually approach the bar for drinks and food after not being acknowledged after 35 minutes. I thought I maybe just caught it on a bad day. I was wrong. I went back there with a friend a month later, same story. Had to approach the bar to order a water, drinks, dinner AND to pay. Disappointing service with even worse, rude bartenders. Will not be returning and would advise everyone else to do the same.
It was certainly nice to pay such a low price, but you really are getting the quality you’re paying for. I had curds and a taco salad, both ok which were just okay. My friend and I were eating at about 830 on a Friday night, and a guy at least 20 years my senior and wayyyy past the point of drunken no return would NOT leave us alone. I get that it’s successful as a bar, but it didn’t help my experience there that someone who clearly should not have even been given any more booze was so in-your-face during dinner hours.
Daun. The guy bartenders are all really nice while the girls are snotty Bs. They are only interested in showing off cleavage for tips. Only go there if you are a guy and want to see a whole bunch of other guys at the bar because all of the lady customers will leave–no kidding.
Great Specials and Best Burgers Around. Monkey Shines has homemade lunch specials Monday through Friday. Every Thursday they have pork chops with mashed potatoes and vegetable. It also comes with their wonderful homemade bread. There are other lunch specials through out the week and soup and sandwiches. All of which are tasty and very quick. The burgers are honestly the best around. The meat is fresh, the buns are toasted and if you order it medium rare it is so juicy and flavorful. If you like mushroom and Swiss burgers they make a special mushroom sauce that rocks. Bartenders are fun and friendly.
