Super good food. I have visited the panake cafe several times now and will return, I am sure, many more. Their food is terrific. I suggest the baked pankakes, special recipie meats, and home made cornbeef hash but everthing I have tried there is terrific. The only qualm I have is that they are pretty expensive. I have dropped over 65$ on breakfast for 3 in the past.

Food’s o.k., service is TERRIBLE. My wife and I have been here more than a dozen times, sometimes only because it was convenient since we were on that side of town. Typically, the food is good. On numerous occasions my wife never got syrup for her pancakes, even asking more than once. Really? You’re called Pancake Cafe and you cannot remember to bring syrup on your own, let alone after being asked 2 times? God forbid you can get a soda refill, too. ‘Yeah, I’ll be right back with that.’ B.S. We were there just last Sunday around 1:30pm – there were people there, but nowhere near as many as the busy hours. Our waitress disappeared after she brought our food. We didn’t see her again. My wife had to ask a bus boy to get a box for leftovers. I regret leaving almost a $3 tip on a $30 bill. We will never go back. Really disappointing, because I liked the food here, even though it is HIGHLY overpriced.

Took my family that’s from out of town here for breakfast and everyone enjoyed their meals! The coffee cake was amazing.

Friendly service, Yummy food!. My family and I visited Pancake Cafe this past Saturday. The hosts were friendly, nothing exceptional but nice enough. Our server, Jenny (I remember her name because it is the same as mine) was so friendly. It was our first visit and she explained all of the different options on the HUGE menu! I ordered eggs Benedict, after her recommendation, my husband got a bacon and spinach omelet and a side of bacon and my daughter had a Mickey Cake. The eggs Benedict had the most amazing Hollendaise sauce, seriously it was heavenly! My husband’s omelet left him stuffed and came with hash browns and a short stack of pancakes. Next time, I think we will order our hash browns crispy! The bacon was also delicious and thick cut. I would definitely recommend a visit here, we will definitely be returning!

Mixed Experience. I had the ham and cheese omelet, which was dry and bland; something that could easily be equaled or improved upon in any home kitchen. It came with a side of standard buttermilk pancakes that were really good (go figure at a place called Pancake Cafe). I don’t know if the pancakes themselves were really delicious or if anything would taste good compared to the lame omelet or if the syrup was laced with crack, but they were just plain good–moist, light, and tasty and we both scarfed them down. My wife’s spinach and mushroom crepes were better than my omelet and the hollandaise added a nice tang. Those came with a couple potato pancakes, which were not bad, but not really something I’d get again. We had a Groupon and yes, they’re sticklers about having a reservation, so make one. The prices were probably a few bucks more than a Perkins or Village Inn, but the portions were bigger too. Service was acceptable, but not particularly friendly. The space is quite large, though there isn’t much of a atmosphere to speak of (again, like a Perkins). It was also really busy, so the place does have its fans. Overall, I didn’t think the Pancake Cafe was particularly special. I might go back sometime, but wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there again. Grade: C+

Never Going Back. My husband and I moved here not long ago. We had heard good things about this place, but it has yet to live up to expectations. The first time we went, we found the food ok, the portions decent and everything over priced. For three people the bill was over $50 without any tip. We also weren’t impressed, but they were really busy so we thought we would give it another chance. The second time we went it was even worse. It started with an extremely rude hostess. I had recently purchased a groupon, and I had a couple of questions. I had read that we needed a reservation, but when I called no one would pick up the phone. I asked her if you really needed one, since I had never seen a breakfast place need reservations, and she snapped. She went on a rant about how we could not use the groupon that day. Which was not even the question I asked. When we finally got a table, I asked for a cup of coffee. After fifteen minutes our waitress brought a pot and put it down. The lid wasn’t on right and I burned myself trying to pour my own coffee. Since when do waitresses not even pour the coffee?!? By the end of the meal I was so frustrated I won’t ever go again, even if means losing money on my groupon.

The food is so so, mostly I’ve liked it. We had a groupon and went to use it after we finished eating. The lady pointed out that with the new groupons you HAVE TO HAVE a reservation. No exceptions. It is written on the groupon but this is new and they have not had this rule in the past, plus there were plenty of tables open, we did not go at a busy time. She wouldn’t budge and made us pay the full price. We will only go back now to use the groupon and then find another breakfast place.
