Disappointed. We occasionally visit the Rolling Pin for lunch and bakery items. In the past the products have been good but as of lately the quality seems to be lessening. We had a yellow cake cupcake with strawberry whipped frosting. The yellow cake was very dry and almost seemed like it had been sitting on the shelf for too long. We also had their white chicken chili which we have had many times in the past. This time the chili was literally cold, not exaggerating, it needed to be reheated. The chili also seemed to have random very dark pieces of possibly ground meat (not sure what it actually was but it was not the normal shredded pieces of white meat chicken) and it also had a lot of fatty scrap pieces as well. Will give it some time before we re-visit and hopefully it returns back to the quality it was.
Greasy. Nice little bakery, friendly staff. Cookies were good. Went back and got a cake and the frosting was so greasy none of us could eat it. I think I will just stick with the cookies.
YUM!. Carrot cake to die for! Great place for lunch or Sat. breakfast. Delicious soups & sandwiches. Biscuits & gravy on Sat. is a plateful of pure bliss. Staff is extremely friendly. John in the kitchen remembers customers’ names & comes out to chat if he gets a chance.
The cakes look amazing! Rolling Pin specializes in cakes/desserts, but they have a small dining area and serve food as well. The cookie that I tried was unique and delicious.
