I was afraid of what was going to happen to the place once they sold it. No need for worry. The new owners are amazing! I am excited they decided not to really change much. They are super nice people and so friendly. I am excited to spend more time at Diamond Jim’s!
Only for a Fish Fry. This place stinks, if you don’t like fish fry’s there is no reason to come and there are much better places to go for fish. The staff is rude rude rude. That conduct themselves like they are doing you a favor. Toufgh beans it’s crowed on a Friday, ad more staff or quit the wait staff. God for bid you order something as basic as a hamburger if you don’t eat deep fried fish.So is this the car dealer from my youth that was involved in the civil rights disturbances during the 60’s and ran for Governor? A real bigot if I recall, are black people allowed in his establishment? Doesn’t matter there are so many other places that top this place.
The service was terrible and rude.. My family met at Diamond Jims for Easter, we had a reservation for our large group. We were seated in the back (no problem.) and served by two waitresses. The primary waitress was incredibly rude to us, demanding we all cram into three tables, but the fourth was never used (she siad it was reserved.. nope!) She was rude to the kids, and became upset when some of us only ordered desserts… We informed them during the reservation process that some would eat meals, some would have desserts. Food was slow to arrive, she took menus as people were reading them, and cleared plates with food still on them. One plate (chicken) didn’t arrive until we were leaving, and then she became angry when we asked for a to-go box. The kicker was the auto tip at 20%. The service was terrrible, and complaints to the manager have gone unanswered.
Wouldn’t eat here again. Been there twice, first time a friend took me and the wife, steak was ok and service was great, went there again for our anniversary and very few people were there, service was terrible and steak was not cooked as ordered, when I complained the wife of the owner came over and offered me a free mixed drink,( I do not drink), after we finished dinner, we waited 20 minutes before we just got up and had to ask for our bill at the hostess station, after another 10 minutes they finally sent the waitress over with the bill, bill was $54 and my wife handed $60 and she wanted to know if she could keep the rest as a tip. this after giving us probably the worst service I can remember, We will not ever step into this establishment again as this ruined our anniversary, sent an email to this establishment and never heard back from them again
Bad experience. If your going out for steak you can do better. You are only rolling the dice here. Your steak might be perfect or it might be widely incorrect. We ordered a med well steak that came out rare and sent it back. It came back out less than 5 minutes later and was barely medium. Unforgiveable at a restaurant that calls itself a steak house.
DO NOT EAT HERE!!! They under cooked my fillet – not sure how you undercook a medium fillet but they did. Then they brought out slimy ribs oozing with fat that gagged my little girl. When we sent them back, the supervisor said there was nothing wrong with them and refused to take them off the bill. I was SHOCKED! It grossed her out so bad she couldn’t eat the rest of the night. I just can’t believe they made us pay for something like that. I’ll never be back at this place. ..too bad, I like supporting the locals!
GREAT FOOD/SERVICE. This is a great place for a Friday Fish Fry. Went on Friday night there was 5 of us. You must get there before 6 pm otherwise you will wait. But like with any great service there is a wait. We had reservations at 5:30. Everything was very good. Fish Fry includes: 2 or 3 piece selection, ryebread, slaw, and choice of potato. Had our drinks right away, recieved our food 8 min after we ordered and was on our way back home before 7 pm. now thats service. We were very pleased and left a 25 % tip. As we were leaving the bar was filling up fast.
