Love the sous, but I haven’t eaten anything else from the Cafe. I did like to pop in occasionally for specialty health food items like kombucha or nutritional yeast when we lived a block away, but the prices are pretty wild even for members. Still loved what it brought to the neighborhood though, so I liked to support it every once in a while.
You don’t have to been a vegetarian to love the food!. Just writing this review makes me want to head over to Riverwest for some food right now! The co-op has some of the best food I’ve eaten in Milwaukee hands down. It’s filling, flavorful, and good for you, too. I really enjoy wandering the store attached while waiting for my food. The dining space is tiny, so don’t come in with a large group, but this is a place you will want to eat at again and again.
Yum! Everything is vegetarian!. I would eat the Bi Bim Bop every day if I could. The staff is not always the most gracious, but they are knowledgeable. And as they are all volunteers, I’m amazed they work harder to please than most paid employees I see at restaurants. Never rude, condescending, on their cell phones, or dismissive. Tip them well – they work hard for it! The mock tuna is also a tasty item!
I stop every time I am in the area.. Great food, friendly staff, and uncomfortably small. Of course, that doesn’t stop a line from forming.
Community focused food at it’s best. This place means a lot to me. Nowhere else have I found so many smiling faces, eager to help, give advice or just chat. Staffed mostly by volunteers (I have in the past), these people love the co-op, and it shows. All the food is vegetarian(in the cafe), with lots of vegan options. The food is always well prepared and fresh. There is also an attached grocery store, which stocks all manner of local and/or organic produce. Stop in for a sandwich or some groceries, I bet you’ll love it too.
