I have been to many Mexican places but no place has nailed truly authentic, from the homeland, food. The choices for tacos are plentiful and tasty. Love the cilantro and onions on the tacos. The menudo was very tasty. This place is where it’s at.
The Best. Simply put this is the best Mexican food in Milwaukee. May also be the least known because it is off the beaten path. Try the pork…oh my! No alcohol served, just fantastic food.
Maybe My Favorite Tacos. I used to work a few blocks away and ventured down the street to El Cabrito pretty often. Each Mexican restaurant in Milwaukee seems to have something they specialize in that they make better than the rest of the menu. For me, El Cabrito is my taco place. Their tacos are simple and to the point, always tasty, and goat is a regular option. I am lucky enough that one of the El Cabrito loncheras (taco trucks) parks a block away from my new job. Definitely one of the more underrated and unknown Mexican spots in Milwaukee. Also, always get your tacos with cilantro and onion. No need for lettuce, cheese, all that other junk. Its just going to confuse the flavor and simple enjoyment of a taco. Maybe a thin slice of avocado, but that is it. They have great chips and salsa as well.
