Too Flashy. The food was fine but I expected more from the restaurant because of all the hype. It is not my kind of place, a little too flashy and it was so dark I couldn’t read the menu! I also didn’t get the homey feeling that I like when I eat at a restaurant.
Awesome service and food. I took my wife for a night out and headed to Hudson. We decided on Pier 500, on the advice from a friend. Our server was likely the best we’ve ever had, and we eat out a ton. (Travelers.) We had the Walleye and the Porterhouse. Could not have been better!! The walleye was Parmesan, and the Porterhouse was cooked perfect. I have had porterhouses similar in many cities, and paid at least twice as much. The host (manager) stopped at our table to check, always a nice touch. Hope to be back in Hudson soon for a repeat visit!!
We visted pier 500, last night, I ordered a hamburger, and my boyfriend a prime rib sandwich. The prime rib was ok, and the burger came still very raw, which I order well done. They took it back, to recook, tho by the time it came back out it had been over 1hr from the time I had started eating, so I was full, ask them to box it so I could take it home. This moring when I went to eat it I reilized it was burnt. In the end they only took 5 dollors off my check, so I paid for something they made that I couldn’t eat not once but twice. Will not be going back here.
Worth the Dollars. My family and I have eaten at Pier 500 several times and the food is always wonderful. It is a bit pricey but the portions are good and decent variety in the menu. My favorite is the blackened salmon with dirty rice and the flat bread is great. There is often a wait so the servers can get a bit busy – this is one of our favorites.
Fun with family. We purchased wine cruise tickets for my cousin’s birthday. The boat was porting out of Husdon, WI just across the street from Pier 500, so we decided to have dinner. The brie cheese curds are a must have with a bottle of red wine. My husband chose the swordfish which was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I indulged myself and had the lobster mac & cheese which was very good. The prices were higher end, but we felt we got our money’s worth. The service was a bit slow, but our server was training a new person, so we let it slide. We were enjoying the wine and conversation anwyay.
Total dissappointment. Untrained Waite staff.Overpriced food. They obviously think very highly of themselves!Compared to quality Chefs, these guy’s would be on par with McDonald’s cooks.(no offense to McDonald’s cooks meant).Long wait for food
A nice open Dining Room that offers a River View and the View Gets Better on the Patio Great Food and Drinks it’s a bit higher price but worth it
